I meant it from a style standpoint. For example Conte might prefer Gana because of how he sets his team up.

Also Pep was actively trying to replace him with Jorginho.

Gana is crap in possession , good teams Cm are usually great at this, hence he’s never going to play in a top team

Every time someone says this it's an exaggeration. He's not the greatest but he's capable of keeping play moving and his ball winning really is elite.

That’s because Morgan snchniederfraud is playing mate. Ganas passing is shocking, and I don’t give a crap if he can pass the ball back to the gk and cb 90% of the time without making a mistake. Offensively it’s like playing with a man short, is actually go as far as saying , rather than just not contributing in attack, he actually stops moves as he’s terrified to pass forward and moves break down and opponents can get in position. He should be our Cm and he can break up play and all that but he’s not our best player. Maybe he makes the biggest difference to the team, because when he doesn’t play our CM is Davies and Morgan, but them being crap doesn’t mean gana is our best player. Gana doesn’t look “to good for us” digne, Bernard and richy all stand out and look like they could play a team in the top 6 . They are our best players atm

He isn't a problem. Task him with being the defensive midfielder whose job it is to regain possession and give it to someone else and that's fine, because he's excellent at it.

So yes, he is one of our best players, because he's very good at that job - easily the best in the league behind Kante.

So, we need someone next to him who does have that ability to play an incisive pass, or move with the ball from deep. Hopefully that's Gomes, at lest for now.

See, this is the problem. Gana is a DM.

He looks poor when deployed as CM because that's not where his strengths lie, and that's not where he's played for most of his career.

Schneiderlin gets deployed as the DM when he plays, which pushes Gana into CM (Because Gana has more energy and pace) = we look poor.

Davies gets deployed as the CM when he plays and Gana reverts back to the DM role = we look better.

Every informed analysis puts Gana as the next in line behind Kante in all the categories relating to defensive midfield duties.

I think our top outfield players are Digne, Bernard and Richarlison and can see Mina being amongst this group also.

As you say, Sigurdsson (who ive always rated) needs to show consistency (as i posted) before hes classed as a 'key player' for us.

Coleman has been way below par compared to before his injury.

Gana i think has to be replaced with a deep playmaker who is a very good all rounder.

Walcott isnt top level.

I think some posters have a strong affinity to certain players and would rather we kept them until they retire but the problem with that is we cant make the next level step if theyre still in the team.

If we keep them as squad players then were also shelling out a fortune in salaries which makes little sense without top 4 finishes.

If we can add a permanent CB for when Zouma leaves and a permanent CM to replace Gomes then there are literally no first team spots to improve on (if coleman/gana/sigurdsson/walcott arent sold).

So, we either upgrade on those 4 or we sign squad players (which isnt a great idea unless theyre going to be pushing players out -- which posters dont want lol ).

Thats an excellent post thats my reading of it too, we need to cut our losses with Morgan has West Ham written all over him.

Also Silva wants high energy players in certain areas for pressing the double pivot is one area.

Ultimately i think it will be Gana and Jimmy Mc.

His first thought of a pass is to Pickford and a defender mate. He’s a liability going forwrd, he can’t shoot to save his life and it winds me up because he is usually the one that shoots from 30 yards

I would be interested in Danny Wellbeck at Arsenal in January.

Now let me explain this, we haven't had a striker since Lukaku left, we are currently sporting DCL, Niasse and Tosun. Be it lack of quality, development or an inability to transfer form to higher league. It seems unlikely that any of these can carry a goal scoring burden.

Wellbeck is out of contract in the summer, likely to move on has proven he can score goals in this league. He is the perfect stop gap and back up going forward.

Now what i would like us to do is drop 60-80million on a striker in the summer and see Welbeck as a back up option beyond that, but the deal that could be done is value and likely to improve us and add a different option in the short term.

Morgan may be a more developed player then Davies, but Davies is a fair better combination with Gana for what we are trying to do, its about the blend sometimes and maximizing and complimenting qualities.

Not for me. Bang average, injury prone, would more than likely want a decent wedge and would not be willing to be benched when we get someone of a higher quality in.

Gana needs to play , IMO not disputing that, Morgan is my most hated player and was even when Williams was still here. Davies has good and bad days mostly bad tbf, so gana gets picked ahead of any of them imo. The post said he’s our best player, I think digne, Bernard and richy are . They are the only three that stand out as a level above everyone else and are better players imo
