...into the 2nd week of the transfer window and here’s the transfer gossip for this Friday morning;

- 4th Official speculates that Everton defender, Ashley Williams, could be a target for new Rangers boss, Steven Gerrard
.

- 4th Official also continue to link Everton with Hamburg’s 17 year old defender, Josha Vagnoman. SoccerSouls website suggest Everton would be the ideal destination for the highly rated youngster.

- According to The Daily Mail, Wayne Rooney has agreed personal terms with D.C. United but the details of his settlement with Everton are yet to be finalised.

- Everton have announced the release of 8 youngsters from their Academy squad; Tom Scully, Stephen Duke-McKenna, Tom Murphy, Sid Kerr, Charlie Ball, Nathan Moore, Nathan Baxter and Jordan Corke. Scully is reportedly close to sealing a move to Norwich, whilst the Liverpool Echo says Murphy is considering an offer from a club in Ireland.

- Sky Sports are now reporting Everton and Tottenham interest in Lille’s 21 year old midfielder, Yves Bissouma. The player began his career at AS Real Bamaklo in Mali before moving to France in 2016 where he has scored 4 goals in 55 appearances for Lille.

- SkyItalia say Roma are making a concentrated push to sign Ajax playmaker, Hakim Ziyech. The 25 year old Moroccan is also a target for Everton and Liverpool.

..and other things;

- The Liverpool Echo report Marco Silva’s appointment as Everton Manager will not be announced until next week as there is still no resolution to the legal wrangle with his former club, Watford.

If Gerrard takes Williams off us I'd find it in my heart to remove the amazing image of him on his hands and knees as my screensaver.

Oh dear lord. I didn’t realize until just now that I live in a world where Jozy Altidore makes over three times what Zlatan does for playing football/soccer.
It's one of the things killing the USMNT. Our best players can dominate a league and make 7 times what they could elsewhere but they go backwards as players

So much deadwood to clear out, starting with Williams.

Can't see him going to Rangers though...maybe some nextman club like Villa, Fulham or Cardiff.

Cardiff???

....the problem with moving such players on is their massive salaries. You can’t blame the individuals for not wanting a reduction in wage, so any move will have to be made financially attractive to them. It might take a few years to shift some.

So the kopites are about to get Fekir and we are probably going to get some championship players... Not to mention we get Silva to coach the team until January. I really hope Brands works out

Liverpool - like it or not - are a much more attractive proposition than us right now.

We'll see what happens with Salah though, before they crown themselves world champions for next season even though half of them won't have seen Fekir play.

We'll get some good players in - I'm confident on that - and more importantly a manager who isn't totally inept.

Our squad is massive and needs trimming, which has to be a priority.

Would be no shock if Salah goes for ridiculous money this summer. Will probably never be worth this much again and they are run as a business who always sell their best assets.
