Plattenshite
Well Fred had both Manchester clubs among others sniffing around him so yes a good WC would have given him greater value.
Shakhtar are also owned by a multi billionaire whereas PSV are not and would snatch your hands off at £30 million from their old pal Marcel. Lets not pretend a CL elite side will be bidding £50 million + for him he is good but not yet at that elite level - PSV will know roughly what sort of fee they will get for him with or without a few good WC performances its just the player himself is more likely to go to a European club for £30 million than Everton for £30 million off the back of it.
Saints and Leicester also bidding for Maddison, West Ham with Diop - the club have gone back to sell to buy ditherers mate - the penny will drop soon enough.
Twice the player Baines is now too sadly.
The one thing I'd say is that when he did get forward he left a lot of space behind that Mexico exploited, but that's because the Germans, surprisingly, played with very little defensive discipline. Both full backs bombed forward but neither their wide players or central midfielders showed any appetite to cover for them. Hopefully we wouldn't be so naive.
He’s the best 2 year old I’ve ever seen play footy.
They were just so gung ho it was unbelievable and nobody, apart from the 2 central defenders and the keeper, took any responsibility for defensive duties. Both full backs bombed on at the same time and left glaring gaps in behind. Had they been playing Brazil it would have been a reversal of the 2014 score. Mexico didn't take advantage of numerous opportunities in both halves.I mentioned it the other day, but I've been far from impressed with Germany.
Defensively they're gash, and Low has picked 5 midfielders who are exactly the same type of player.
Not taking Sane was mental, and I hope it costs them. Extremely arrogant bloke.
I don't even think he had a crap game. He put in some great crosses.Massive fan of people judging players off the one time they’ve ever seen them.
Plattface crap. So crap that based on his entire league season he got picked as the World Champions left back. But had a crap game so that’s that.
Lozboy. Worlds best player. Never coming here. And that’s that.

I'd love us to buy Lozano, I think he is a great prospect and took his goal well today. But I posted earlier I think everyone is going well OTT on his performance today. Not just on here but on TV too with the match commentators and experts. Thought he made the wrong decisions on a couple of counter attacks before he scored his goal and switched off defensively time after time.
I don't think Lookman is as advanced as Lozano yet, which you would expect given he is a couple of years younger, but if he was afforded the same space Lozano had today he'd have done just as well I'm sure.
Why?. Because he scored a goal in a world cup game?.
Took his goal well, and is very quick, but I do think everyone is going overboard on his performance here.
I think he's made poor decisions a couple of times when breaking, his tracking back on Kimmitch has been awful switching off frequently, has given tge ball away in defensive areas and a poor touch led to a free kick they hit the bar from.
Not trying to put a downer on it but this kid is far from world class and no way is he out of our reach. Thats if we're even in for him.
Lookman would be having a blinder here given the same space.
But, but, he'll be out of position!
Seriously though he doesn't look as good as Lookman
Discounting what he might have done on loan - when has Lookman ever looked really good?
PSV wouldn't have sold him a week ago
Can’t say I watched any of his games whilst in Germany. Not sure how much you saw?
Lozano has had a much more impressive career to date and shown more.
It's nothing like Fred - who is a squad player for Brazil. It's unlikely any good performance would have commanded a bigger fee.
United have also been tracking Fred since January. We have only just appointed our coaching staff.
Lozano is Mexico's bright young talent and the Eredivise's best attacker. Why would PSV cash in before he could do something like score a great goal against the World Champions.
I don't think anyone is falling over the club, it's just been realistic. And yes, realistically we need to shift players because we have a massive squad. What's new there? Everyone knows it...
Why would you discount 6 months of performances?
That’s like saying that if you ignore rooneys career and just focus on one of his matches at the end of this season, he has always been a rubbish player.
Lookman has looked good since January and looked good in games for us such as when he came on against Liverpool. You can’t ignore them to try and make a point.
Lozano has had a better career than Lookman so far though ffs.
He's also a better player.
I like Lookman. He could be great next year, but Lozano is better.
He's also 2 years old, so that's to be expected.
Thought after his near own goal early on he had a decent game. Supported the attack well and has a fine left foot on him. Put in 3 or 4 really good crosses into the box and it's a long time since I've seen that from an Everton left back.
Lozano has taken all the plaudits from this game but I think Plattenhardt has been equally as good in a quietly effective way.
Not sure how I’m so wrong here.
Lozano 27 caps for Mexico, 8 goals
17 goals and a load of assists and title winner (admittedly in Dutch league)
Lookman 1 goal in 15 games for Everton.
5 goals in 11 games for Leipzig.
England u21 international, 0 goals.
How does Lookman look better than him? I’ve seen Lookman have some terrible games where he’s literally done nothing.
Why can't we have both?
And trebuchet Bolasie into the Sun.

Be honest mate, apart from his goal what did he do today that was stand out?Is he getting overhyped though?
Been touted coming into the tournament as one of the ones who could light it up etc
First game playing fir a huge underdog scored the winner against the reigning world champions
I say that's living up to try the hype mate.
