Sorry if already posted, seems unlikely I suppose, but hey ho, not like theres anything decent around anyway.

Our Everton search today has thrown up a claim that isn’t the usual transfer rumour fare.

El Diario, a Spanish language US paper, has a snippet which claims ‘The Premier League looks at MLS goalscorer’.

Everton are the club in question and the player is Josef Martinez.

A 25 year old Venezeulan international, Martinez plays for Atlanta United and has been hitting the back of the net regularly this season.

In 16 MLS games he’s scored 14 goals, putting him at the top of the league’s rankings, and made one assist.

Joining Atlanta United from Torino in February 2017, Martinez was one of MLS’s top goalscorers in his first season, despite missing a chunk of games with injury. This campaign he’s showed no continuation of fitness problems and is flying for the club.

Is this the Freudian slip silva had the other week?

He looks amazing in MLS but that's also partly due to how Atlanta play. If we had Cenk, him, Sandro, and DCL then I wouldn't complain but I'd much prefer we didn't give up on Sandro and have he and DCL fight for the back up spot.

First week of May there was rumoured interest from DC United in Rooney. Media reporting it was all going through by mid-May. Here we are now in the fourth week of June and there is still reports of "he's deciding this week", etc.

Get him out the door.

Well we dont know what Connolly and Robinson are yet.

They could both be very decent players and they could be League Two gems, plus and this wont go down well, but im not totally convinced by JJK yet, I mean im defo not saying hes utter tosh, but I just dont know if hes "got it".

Cuco would be very easy to punt given the smallish wages he will be on, smallish in terms of our squad.

..I appreciate it’s going over old ground, but we would know who at least one of Connolly/Robinson was if the DoF had the foresight to keep one as back up for Baines. Both proved last season they are better than League 2 and both demonstrated they were a better alternative on the left side to Martina.

If there`s anything in this at all, he`d be one for the future, as Brands has stated he wants to buy " first team " ready players and this lad would need time to get used to the pace and physicality of the Premier League.

When did Brands state this!?!?!?

Wont be many players we sign outside or inside the league that dont need a bedding in period.

Good players adapt, bad players dont, then again some good players take longer than others, basically its always a lottery.

With respect mate, until they play for Everton, we dont know if they can play for Everton.

Its alright being good in the Championship and at yoot level football, its another thing playing in the Prem.

I for 1 dont think Martina is totally bad, I mean hes not good at all, but still, as with all the yoots, till they perform, its unknown.
