Yeah, right now the best americans have been shipped out to most of the worlds top 20-30 teams, which is a change from 10 years ago. Currently the best american prospects are at Dortmund, Bayern, PSG, Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea, etc. The rest of the group, which actually has players who could be better, does include teams like Wolfsburg, Schalke, Benfica. Right now probably the two best regarded american prospects in MLS is Acosta, and Tyler Adams.

For now, the only MLS players really worth approaching for Everton would simply be a couple of very young players under 21 for the U-23 squad. By the time any of them are worth snapping up for the 1st team they are elsewhere. Probably only a couple who you might consider for 1st team, and that would probably be iffy, the likes of Barco and Almiron. MLS is getting better, but you cant buy 1st team players out of it except on rare occasions.

....morning folks, here’s Tuesday’s Toffee transfer tit-bits;

- HullLive report Hull City Manager, Nigel Adkins, has no plans to cash in on 21 year old winger, Jarrod Bowen, amid interest from Premier League Everton: “There’s not been any bids. He scored some goals last season so we’ll have to wait and see but we’re not looking to sell him.”

- SkySports News suggest Wayne Rooney is edging close to a move to MLS side D.C. United. Rooney will sign a two year, £3.8m per year, deal.

- The Daily Mail say Leighton Baines could follow Wayne Rooney to the MLS with interest from Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union.

- According to Adrian Kajumba of The Mirror, Everton are lining up a bid for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder, Hannes Wolf. The 19 year old helped his club win the Austrian league and get to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

- Goal.com pick up on reports from Turkey suggesting Galatasaray are turning their attention to Everton striker, Oumar Niasse, after failing to land Leicester’s Ahmed Musa.

- Paris United claim Everton and Leicester are battling for the signature of Montpellier Left Back, Jérôme Rousillon. The report says both clubs have submitted bids for the 25 year old.

- L’equipe reckon Clément Grenier’s performances for Guingamp last season have alerted Everton, Fulham and Newcastle. The 27 year old midfielder scored 5 goals and picked up 4 assists in 15 appearances and could be available for €3m.

- Italian outlet, Calciomercato, say Everton are interested in landing Swedish World Cup star, Emil Forsberg. The 26 year old plays for German side, RB Leipzig.

- According to a report by El Diario, Everton are being linked with a surprise move for Atlanta United striker, Josef Martinez. The 25 year old Venezuelan international scored 14 times in 16 MLS games this season.

Sounds to me like the global press has no idea who we are after.

Barcelona supposedly want to sell centre half Yerry Mina. 23 and looks a very good player. Scored for Colombia last night And he's 6 foot 5.
They signed him for 11 million.

Supposedly he is going on loan to Betis. I would certainly have him here, tall, aggressive, and agile.

No shame in not making Barca’s first XI.

These are the sort of cheaper alternatives we need to be looking at, not £30m + flavour of the month signings from PL sides.

The reason is they have too many non eu players apparently.
Oh fair enough that could be the reason then oyffffftrrrrrr

Mina would probably go for 30M+.
