Summer 2018 Transfer Window

The transfer window is only open for just over 3 weeks once the world cup has ended, but we can sell to foreign clubs til the end of August. For me priority should be getting the players in first, we can't wait around for them to sell much longer.

Don’t think we can bring in players for positions we are already overloaded in without selling first. I’m sure we are trying to offload a few even on loan to reduce the wage bill. Once players are back From holidays next week then we should see some more negotiating I would presume.

All quiet on the transfer front.

44 days until the window closes.

44 days to go and we seem to be going with what we got, minus rooney and funes mori..

even if we do get some deals done late, the manager will only have a couple of days to put a team together, if 90% of THAT team is last years team then we are in big trouble. they simply will not be able to play as silva wants

I don't believe it is back to sell to buy, but, it would not be the worst thing if it was.
Anytime we have money to spend we seem to make a mess of it. David Moyes recruited very well on a shoestring for several years.

I think we have a budget, but I think the signings are carefully being targeted and we are not going to sign players simply because they are available.I believe we could pay a large fee for the right player as I don't believe that Brands or Silva would have come here just to try to balance the books for Moshiri.
We are back to training next week and then I believe we will see movement in the market generally.

..my concern with Loftus-Cheek is whether he’s dynamic enough to regularly pick a game up by the scruff of the neck and make things happen. He’s talented but there’s lots of talent out there. I don’t know if he’s the type to positively influence games on a week by week basis.
Oh for a young Alan Ball or Howard Kendall.

We need winners. Players who play like the game really matters.

That’s business you goon.
It's not business in football. There is a clear correlation between money spent and success. A sell to buy approach does not bring success.

But, yeah, let's carry on pretending all is good because we have a DoF nobody had heard of 6 months ago.

This is a great post and a leading contender for the title of the “wet pants award”
