Just digging yourself a bigger hole. So first off, you are saying we need to spend at the same level of City, and that somehow we can do that, so you are criticizing us for not being able to do that? You are becoming a parody of yourself.

Second, you now have been deceptive again by not including the full quote section. "Everton spent £150m last summer plus a further £40m on players in January for a desperately poor return. Asked whether Moshiri would make similar funds available this summer, Brands replied: “No. First of all we need to offload players to raise money [to spend], and also salary-wise. "

When asked if Moshiri would make similar funds(190 million) available again, Brands replied no. But Moshiri not providing 190 million doesnt mean Moshiri wont provide 40 million. Then he said we need to offload players to raise money, and also salary wise. Which is 100% correct, and correct even if we net spend -40 million.

But you already knew that, right?
I’m basing everything off what has been directly said by those in charge.

Moshiri said we wouldn’t ever have to worry about money whilst he is here. Why aren’t we spending to compete with the best in the country, then? Remember the slogan ‘Nothing will be the same again’?

So spending a bit of money hasn’t gone to plan, best pull the plug and adopt a sell to buy approach, eh? Seems very Randy Lerner/Tony Xai.

If he isn’t going to supply £190m, which was less than Man City/Man Utd/Chelsea, then how are we going to surpass them teams?

If he had of came in and said that he just wanted to cement us in 7th place, then fair enough, I couldn’t complain as he is being true to what he said. Moshiri came in with all the bluster that nothing would be the same, we’ve got no money worries, etc.

You make the assumption we are not negotiating. Thats fine. My assumption is different. The Mori deal being a case in point. Not a word in public until it was done.
We’ll soon see. Every week we’re getting excuses, mostly that is the World Cup. This season is different to any other, the window shuts much earlier.

Are we though?
From people on here.

I was fairly optimistic when Silva and Brands were brought in, thought everything would be swift as they would know the areas we needed. Turns out they didn’t and our squad is looking desperately poor with only six weeks until the start of the season.

That, coupled with the radio silence on the stadium, has destroyed any optimism.

Everything is feeling all too familiar with the current set-up.

Sell to buy
Stadium stalling

Are you still being linked with Danny Rose?

Of so, can you get a move on please. I'm sick of his constant bleating. Wah Wah Wah

If he is a professional footballer, then yes, there would have been a link mate.

Getting info out of Goodison these days is harder than getting ITK on North Korea.

It's not business in football. There is a clear correlation between money spent and success. A sell to buy approach does not bring success.

But, yeah, let's carry on pretending all is good because we have a DoF nobody had heard of 6 months ago.
is the Blue in your surname a reference to Everton or just your whole aspect with life in general?...your posts seem to indicate the latter to be honest..lCheer up man...the sun is shining and even if you cup doth not overfloweth and is purpetually half drunk then try only being half negative and not fully negative and all of a sudden you might see that things can’t get any worse than they were like the rest of us.

It is not hard to understand that in order to stay within the PL rules we need to reduce the wage bill as our revenue is tiny compared to top 6, partially due to really low ticket prices/loads of concessions and mainly due to poor commercial revenue from a lack of on-field success and poor commercial execution.

It also is not hard to understand that with a stadium to also Finance Moshiri is not going to throw another net £100m at the squad without first getting back whatever pennies on the pound can be recovered from our obscene and ultimately ridiculous splurge.

None of that is a cause for panicky ‘Moshiri is a fraud/same old Everton/sell to buy’ as the context is the need to clean house and start again. We spent money like my brother on a stag in Vegas right down to coming back married to the ugly bird nobody else would touch only to find her Mum and uglier twin sisters have also moved in. This summer is not the problem it is just the rather painful hangover cure, crash diet and expensive divorce settlement after the ‘best month ever’ turned sour.
