Yet another? Which of our managers hasn’t played him?
None of them have ever really gone all in on him have they? Martínez hardly used him but he was young to be fair. Koeman never really picked him at centre half, Unsworth did it as a last resort and allardyce dropped him as soon as he had his feet under the table.

Over 20 games in all competitions last two seasons isn’t bad considering his age and position.

Why they would even entertain selling holgate is pure lunacy. Jags is still best defender but he's not getting any younger. Hopefully Keane recovers after a rocky first season. Holgate has way to much promise to get rid of without even getting an extended look see.

It’s not bad no, but it’s not the sign of someone coaches have masssively rated either, which was the initial point. He’s played 40 games less than stones had at the same point for example, despite us having less competition for places and loads of people claiming he’s better than stones.

Well theres Holgates replacement.

18m Euros for ugly boy, he better be able to play.

Hmm, about £15m is alright I suppose if true. I was expecting us to spend big on a centre back though, so could be vida plus another for shipping out mori and Williams.

... Surely not Holgate anyway.

AMK Spor report Everton have made a new offer for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

The Merseyside club have been strongly linked with a move for the Croatian international after he impressed at the World Cup, and yesterday it was claimed the Toffees had offered €13m.

According to AMK Spor, Everton have now offered Davy Klaassen in a direct exchange for Vida and Besiktas will make a decision. That seems surprising, because it would mean Everton valuing their player at around €13m.

Last month we covered reports from Turkey that Besiktas are showing an interest in Klaassen as they are looking to replace Anderson Talisca.

At the time it was claimed Everton wanted to exchange the Dutchman for Besiktas captain Oğuzhan Özyakup, but the Turkish international has since extended his contract with the club.

Besiktas are said to be looking at loaning Klaassen but if the Turkish club accepts Everton’s reported offer then they’ll have a chance to sign the midfielder permanently.

Vida is contracted to the Turkish giants until June 2022.
