Not a fan of Carvalho. People can say it’s just his style or whatever, but not having that, to me he just moves slow AF. Looks like he’s running against 70mph winds.

Carvalho is more a powerhouse, either driving forward with a run or picking out a pass.

Hes not going to bomb forward each time though...usually (at least when ive seen him) hes happy to sit back and ping the ball around. Different to Barry yes, but not similar to other players weve had that id compare him to...the poster asked for a similar player.

In some ways...hes also similar to Fellani also. Not direct comparisons but in the position he shares some attributes with both.

If we went with him then i wonder how Silva wants him to play as i assume he would sit deep. Gana would make it a very defensive pairing...

Would be interesting if we signed Diop behind him...both would add alot of height and power in the spine.

He had been out of work for 6 months and constantly keeping track of Everton in his free time and I’m sure he knows what every single player can or cannot do.

He should be best prepared to make excellent decision in the transfer market.

Carlvalho signing could well be the end for Schneiderlin and besic.
 
Not my choice as a first purchase. I think Gana/ Benny can do the defensive task.

Silva has to have a structure in mind for the team and for me support for Tosun is essential and that is best supplied by a top, attacking midfielder
with whom he can link. If that is the case, we need a dynamic midfielder who can get around - Carvalho is not that player.

Schneiderlein will be around for another two years. Why would he move? Hard to believe anyone would replicate his wages.

He’s below 100k, no?

60k to 80k is within Budget for all mid table team in the premiere league.

I can see him leaving, either this window to the winter one.

Reportedly on 120k/week. Keep in mind he came from United who pay big money as well as the fact that Ron and Steve were idiots with money.

I’m not sure they haven’t been. There have been rumors of interest from at least Arsenal. He seems very much a system player to me though. And if Marco wants him to anchor midfield again then I imagine he knows how he wants to play here.
