Gibson isn’t a risk full stop. He’s a proven PL defender and a good one at that.

Was linked to City and one or two others when Boro were relegated but from what I remember they were asking ridiculous money at the time which is probably why a move didn’t materialise.

15 million is buttons these days and if Burnley pull it off, they’ll have a bargain.

Still only 25, left footed, captain at his club with leadership qualities and an organiser.

People won’t get excited about him though because he’s not a sexy name but I’d be all over that deal at 15 million.

He’s a rock solid dependable centre half.

I’d sign gibson & sell Keane back to Burnley for the £15 million cut our losses. The earlier the better the more he plays the more his value drops.

You could swap the name Gibson for Keane and the name Boro for Burnley and a lot of what you said would still be true. I think that is what worries people

I think Brands is doing a good job, but not sure that fee is anything to shout about, when you've got the RS getting £24m for Ings and £12m for Ward

Only they don't get anything like 24m for Ings, much like they don't get 26m for Origi mate.

Same stuff was being said about them willing to sell Sturbridge last January for 30-40m and they ended up losing him out to west Bromwich and paying half his wages.

Ward has a very good reputation and us young and injury record is good, he was superb in getting Huddersfield promoted the season before last.

The decent fees they've gotten on shifting players tend to be ones they've capitalised on the English young player hype like the lad they fleeced Bournemouth with.

The likes of origi, markovic, etc they haven't been able to shift and will continue to struggle to do so.

...on this day in 1975, I started a summer holiday job in the Civil Service and retired 41 years later. It just shows, you don’t know what’s around the corner. Talking of which, here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for this Saturday morning;

- Everton have confirmed the signing of 18 year old Portugal youth international goalkeeper, Joao Virginia, from Arsenal. The club also report Left Back, Antonee Robinson agreed a new 3 year contract before joining Wigan on loan.

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are poised to end their pursuit of Barcelona Centre Back, Yerry Mina, as the price being asked for the Columbian international is far too expensive.

- The Northern Echo report Everton will go all out to sign Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles. The Toffees are preparing a £30m bid but Newcastle want closer to £50m for the 24 year old.

- Sky Sports say Everton are considering a £3m bid for West Ham’s 19 year old defender, Reece Oxford. The youngster is back at West Ham after a period on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

- Sportskeeda suggest Everton are expected to complete the £3m transfer of Sporting’s 21 year old midfielder, Pedro Delgado in coming days.

- The Daily Mirror report PSG are targeting Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo. The 28 year old Argentinian international has been interesting Everton.

- According to Stoke-on-Trent Live, Gary Rowett wants to keep hold of midfielder, Badou N’Diaye and insists he’s not part of the deal that brought Ashley Williams to Stoke.

- Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, took to his Twitter account to announce Fiorentina are close to signing Everton midfielder Kevin Mirallas. The deal is reported to be a £500k loan with a £7m option to buy.

- Sky Sports report Middlesborough have agreed a £15m deal with Burnley for Centre Back, Ben Gibson. Everton have been linked with the defender.

- Brazilian website UOL, say Gremio have rejected a £4m offer from an Italian side for Centre Half, Walter Kannemann and have offered the Argentinian a new contract. Everton are not mentioned as being involved.

Over to @Kinky Koeman. Up the Toffees.
Thanks Eggs, enjoy the holiday and when you get back you only have thirty something years to go before we let you retire from this job!

That's what instantly came to my mind; obviously, we shouldn't halt every deal because of previous failings however it has heightened our apprehension.

I for one was happy when we signed Keane as I believed, from what I saw at Burnley, that we had a good defender who'd further develop - how wrong was I.

Rise and shine, jazz hounds, Sir @Eggs’ shift is over for now, I'll be handling the News round-up reigns whilst our very own Judith Chalmers takes a well deserved jolly.

Only 5 days left, hoping we add a few hunks. x
