How about the Gower lad from Swansea what I have seen from him this year is just what the doctor ordered nice tight skills and flair with a decent shot. Crosses real well too.

With the economies beyond repair for awhile locally and abroad we will have to dampen our expectations a bit. Even a buy out for Jo will be difficult won't it. So youth will be the order of the day with a big eye for potential. Even Abramovich is getting killed financially at the moment.

Crikey lads, can we not bask in our glory for a bit longer before we go through the torment of transfer talk? We all know that it's the Everton way to put us through the wringer when the transfer window opens.

I liked the idea someone had in another thread recently about getting Van Bommel on a bosman. We still need a holding midfielder but it'd be silly to spend money on someone considering Rodwell looks like he'll make the position his own within 3 years. Van Bommel would be a great stop-gap for the time being.

I was dying for the Moutinho talk to materialise into something concrete but Arteta's form in the middle means he should no longer be a target. Reports keep coming out now and then about him still wanting the move and Moyes sending scouts over to watch him though.

I have a really good feeling about Jo, I think he'd be available for about £10m, and he'd be worth it. That's a fair price for a 21 year-old Brazilian international.

If there was any money left we should be looking to get a pacy winger in. Someone in the Ashley Young mould. Victor Obinna sounds perfect and I wouldn't be surprised if we went back in for him, obviously I've no idea whether his work-permit eligibility has changed. If we don't have any money after Jo he could still be an option on loan.

So that's Van Bommel, Jo and Obinna - a bosman, a £10m, and a loan. It's doable. Moyes would then I'm sure try a couple of cheeky frees/loans for players we've never heard of to provide us with a bit of extra cover. Hopefully nobody of value would have to leave. Our first team would then look something like this:

-----------Howard-------------
Hibbert--Jags---Lescott--Baines
-------Arteta----Van Bommel---
--Obinna---Fellaini/Cahill-----Jo-
-----------Yakubu-------------

With the likes of Neville, Yobo, Osman, Pienaar, Rodwell, Gosling, Saha, Vaughan providing competition for places and cover.

Of course in reality the transfer window won't actually unfold like this, it's always unpredictable (especially in our case it seems). But I can fantasise.

I haven't seen him much but that kid Scotland from Swansea looked pretty good and could do the business as a striker if we can't keep Jo. He looks a bit like Kenywan Jones of Sunderland.

I still would love to get Valencia from Wigan. He's one of my favorite players but we probably can't afford him. He'll go for the same price that Palacios did.

Steven Hunt would also be effective but Reading might go up this year and if they do they won't sell him.

I haven't seen Chris Eagles but heard he's doing well now that he gets regular playing time.

I can't see us spending more than 5-10M. We'll once again have to sell to buy.

How are we meant to afford someone like Gourcuff?

On loan...

Lads, keep an eye on this weekend's match between Sporting and Benfica.

It could decide the fortunes of Sporting for a CL spot, which could have an impact on the availability of some key players... Btw, watch that Vukcevic lad.(y)

Now c'mon, wish me well, hey....

Benfica has some pretty interesting players as well... :D

I couldn't see us getting a player like Gourcuff on loan.

Then again, I wouldn't have seen us getting a player like Jo on loan either and look at what happened there.

Wouldn't surprise me if we went back in for Victor Obinna, he hasn't got a future at Inter and Moyes seemed to like him. He could give us options upfront and outwide.

Other than that I'm struggling, I doubt we'll have much money to work with so we'll have to spend it wisely. We'll no doubt get a few loans to boost the squad. With the likes of Castillo, Van der Meyde, Jacobsen, Valente and Jo all potentially leaving we'll be short on numbers.

It's great to see the likes of Anichebe, Rodwell and Gosling have stepped up though, gives us more options and means we don't have to get as many players in. Hopefully Vaughany will finally come through aswell.

The future's bright, the future's Blue.:D

What a fantasy it is.

I agree that a pacey winger must be our No. 1 priority - someone like Alex Witsel of Standard Liege would be great.

I really like the look of Mouthinho and Defour, but the way Arteta is playing there is no room for either of them.

I would also get Wayne Hennessey of Wolves as an understudy to Howard - put the pressure on him that Nash isn't doing.

We should be after someone like FAbio Coentrao (Left), Obinna (Right) or Gourcuff (Milan reject doing fantastic at Bourdeux)

Will be interesting to see what type of wide player Moyes goes for, he usually prefers central players out there. The likes of Arteta, Osman, Pienaar, Fernandes, Gosling and Anichebe all spring to mind. Even Obinna isn’t a winger, he’s a second striker who can play out there.

We’ve never really played with natural wingers under Moyes.
