Agreed. For the £5m difference you have someone that is likely to not only increase in value over time, which the opposite to Lennon, and also IMO he is the type of player we could really use as another direct option.

Liverpool had an incredible season the year before last (not even bothered admitting it because they ruined it themselves by flopping last year lol), by being direct and having a pacey front line mixed with a high-pressure possession style.

They flopped last season simply because the two best players who offered the direct attacking were Sturridge and Suarez were obviously out injured/ busy winning the Champions League instead.

The best way to break down 10 men behind the ball, is to keep going at them until you get one chance and score. If we had Lukaku, Mirallas, Shaqiri, Mertens, Deulofeu and Barkley as our options, we'd be one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

Without doing a Football Manager style post (which I think isn't even far off how most teams operate these days):

Gibson
McGeady

Buy:
Shaqiri
Mertens
Van Dijk

By doing this, which should be within our means, we'd smash everyone all over the place.

You would almost expect Naismith to want to leave. Scotland have a good chance of reaching the Euros and surely he will want regular football.

He would be a brilliant asset for any bottom half team*.

I thought Cleverleys transfer was quick. It was inevitable but with it being Everton, I thought it was going to drag on a little bit

We are all used to Moyes though.

In Martinez' first season he got in a few early and then waited for loans like Lukaku.
In his 2nd seasons he waited for Rom and got in Besic early (although that dragged on).

So you never know.

I agree but I think Dann is probably a safer option to Van Dijk. That said Van Dijk's pace would be useful.

I'd definitely take either Dann or Van Dijk, both would be solid additions but it depends whether we go for proven or potential. Either way I'm happy!

I completely forgot about Naismith . I guess we'd almost have too many players if he stayed as well as those in.

I think the problem with Naismith is that he'll never be someone who will effectively play up top for us, and we need someone who can create more in attacking midfield.

For us to progress I'd say that he needs to be moved on.

To be honest she has got a few things which are in the news a few days later and a couple of transfers.... can never really trust anything a "ITK" says, even good ones have bad days!
