Summer transfer speculative hopes and dreams

We are never selling McCarthy, least of all to Spurs. Probably just a story planted by his agent to get him a new contract.

If it gets moved in to the other thread does that mean I automatically get unbanned.
@bol-uk is implying that the rumour needs more substantiation. Personally, I would give it the benefit of the doubt and post it in the credible rumours only thread. I am not sure about that Kaboul rooster but any deal whereby we give away one player and receive two in return sounds incredible (so, on second thoughts, I guess it doesn't make the other thread ie you are still banned)

Bobby spent a lot of money on Mccarthy and knows his worth.

There is NO WAY he would consider that crap swap deal that is being bounced around. he has already sent Aaron back home 'cause he was not good enough to justify the price why would he then be swayed by crapboul as an incentive for a player that is now worth 25mil?
Maybe he wants to make room for Barkley and doesn't want McCarthy's value to drop plus we did just sign Cleverly.

I don't think that swap deal will work but Lennon and money might interest Martinez. Hopefully not. Neither Cleverly or Barkley can play the Barry role and I don't think Besic is ready to be a starter. Plus McCarthy is better than Cleverly or Barkley if we want to play two DCMs.

I agree that the swap deal for McCarthy is a bit suspect (about 7/10 on a new grading scale instituted by @Pippi Longstocking ).
However, the site breaking the story is a very recognised one (I believe it won a big award last year). I do not think they would allow unsubstantiated jarg to be printed. So the swap deal might just have some legs. I am not familiar with Kaboul. Is he any good and do you think swapping McCarthy for him is a good deal?

Kaboul is a centre back, he's alright. Would be on our bench.

Lennon is alright, would sit on our bench.

Mccarthy is the first name on our team sheet.

There is no way bobby would consider the swap unless there was about 15mil on top imo.

By the way - do you have the link to the site you mentioned?

There's absolutely no chance that McCarthy will be let go. Like NONE.

The reason is that he's considered by Martinez as his player.

We're more likely to sign Messi than Martinez to let McCarthy out of his sight.

I would agree, but, everyday he doesnt sign an improved contract, given that he was "promised" 1, makes me think theres a chance.

you are an intrepid man. I need a good dose of humour to go with my jarg rumour intake and the 'credible thread' just doesn't do it for me.
Exactly. There are ninety days to go in this window - and maybe 3 signings to make (if we are lucky) - maybe a couple of loans.
We all need to work together to get through this - build ourselves up for the coming season - the more laughs the merrier.

I don't doubt it'll be sorted in the next month or so. The momentum builds when the club makes progress on signings and renewals.

As players stop looking around and think - progress can be made here.

Plus the club won't exactly sign a contract worth say £12 million over several years without due diligence.

6th July, everybody is basically "back at work", think things will start to move quite quickly in the next few weeks.
