Deco
Player Valuation: £40m
It was 13m, plus 23m wage package, over 6 years its around 73k a week.
For a player whos had 2 good seasons in his whole career.
The 6th year would be more wages so close to £100k a week I guess?

As a relatively poor club we don't have the luxury Liverpool do of spending big and it not coming off, his tactic is fine by me. Even the ones which don't fit the trend were calculated gambles at cheap fees. Only 1 of the 3 looks like it'll pay off but hey, it beats spending £20m on Markovic. Can see him sticking his neck out for this playmaker though, probably about £15m so it absolutely has to be the right buy.
Totally agree mate, just had me wondering has any other manager been as lopsided in terms of targeting players he's got experience with, smacks of being unsure of his scouting network or own judgement
brendan rodgers is the answer to your question for about the first 5 years of his managerial career. last summer he just ran out of former players.
Think Martinez has run his well of former players dry now too tbh, be interesting who he actually targets

@physioroom: #NUFC appear to be unwilling to match QPR £15 million valuation for striker Charlie Austin over concerns of a pre-existing shoulder problemAny bids for Charlie Austin yet? He'd jump at the chance to play for us rather than Leicester/Newcastle. We only have One Striker who scores goals who I think is coming along nicely but what if he's injured? 12-15m for a lad who's proven he can score at the level for a woeful side is surely a bargain in this day and age. Maybe I'm missing something but I think he'd be a terrific addition

Either way, they will most likely be paying him 73k+ when hes 33, assuming hes stayed that long, he will have been at West Ham for 5 years, winning naff all, I would imagine his work rate will be lacking at that point.
Not really worth it for us at all in fairness.
We need someone quality for that position though.
@EvertonNewsFeed: @HLNinEngeland Anything regarding Mertens Kristof?
@HLNinEngeland: @EFCITK @EvertonNewsFeed He's enjoying his honeymoon ... No, they enquired, that's it. No official offers.

@svenclaes: @RobSloman At this moment, I only know #EFC expressed their interest to Mertens' agency. Will keep you all posted, when I know more details!
Seemed the most itk about Henen both during the farce last season and this season it was he rather than Kristof that broke the Mertens newsWill check the boy out.
