Joel > Forster

No C.

No.

And I like Joel.

Number one for me would be Butland but I don't think that's likely and his injury is a concern for me. Pickford I'd be delighted with but I do have my reservations.

Forster or Schmeichel would be good solid editions who would definitely improve us in that area.

This is only PL goalkeepers like. There's clearly ones from abroad who would also improve us, but in such a key position I do think Prem experience - or experience of the English game - is vital if you're looking for immediate improvement, which we are.

2009 Fa Cup Final. It was then I knew and the hate grew from there and has never diminished.

That was also hugely down to Moyes looking to park the bus for 89 minutes and 35 seconds as well like. But yeh, T How loved a cock up. Also made some very good saves though and we consistently finished top six with him in the nets.

2014 onwards he's uber gash like.

Oh no P, you're better than this.

As soon as Lampard scored I knew we'd never win a thing with Tim Howard in goal. Can't stand him. The World Cup game where he saved 98 shots that went straight at him made it all 10 times worse too.

We haven't won anything since either like. But that's a different story.

You've not worn anything since 2009? Obviously proud of the bod Ij if you can go starkers for 8 years. I'd always be worried my arse wasn't 100 per cent clean...but that's just me

And Howard was great for us for many years mate...

Only in his last two seasons - at the age of 35.-37, did his form give.

Forster is 29, and has literally had one 'bad' season - which wasn't too shocking btw - and in fact was only 'a shock' because of how good he had been previous to that.

Anyway, if we get him, I'd be fully behind it. Though equally so I'd be delighted with Pickford.

Agree to disagree about that mate, Howard was at best 'ok' for us, given we where at a set level without much ambition to rise above that, he had huge flaws - Crap at commanding his box or coming for crosses, always poor at anything from distance, there is a good reason he spent so long at us with absolutely no interest in him even rumoured at any point from any other team.

This is one of Kalinic's cock-ups from this season as well btw.

Just saying...

He also made one where he completely missed a kick.

It happens.

Don't really understand comments like this and I see it a lot. People need to realise every goalkeeper has a cockup in them. Why? Because they are the ones in front of the goal. Every player can make an own goal but if it's a goalkeeper, it's remembered as they are the last line before the goal. Name one goalkeeper that never made a hige mistake? You cannot. Sure some goalkeepers are prone to make more than others. These are called lower division goalkeepers. I can guarantee we will bring in a goalkeeper or two this summer and they will make some massive cockup this season and people will be on their backs saying they were right all along. The most overlooked aspect of a keeper is mental strength. A good goalkeeper can make a huge cockup and recover from it. One that is not strong enough mentally will allow it to dwell, allowing for more mistakes in same game or the game after. For this reason, when a top selects a new goalkeeper in 2017 the physique, agility and shot-stopping abilities are not all that is looked into. Mental stength. Remember the term.

For the sake of argument mate, let's look over the last three years (so including last term and the two seasons Koeman was at Saints). This is in all comps btw.

2016/17: Apps - 48 / Goals conceded - 55 / Clean Sheets - 19

2015/16: Apps - 18 / Goals conceded - 17 / Clean Sheets - 6

2014/15: Apps - 41 / Goals conceded - 33 / Clean Sheets - 19

His stats in his debut season in the Prem were also impressive.

Stats for this season including their cup run 'inflate' the numbers in his favour mate, only 7 conceded in the 10 cup games he played - but 3 of those came in the final - and can argue for at the very least 2 of those he was absolutely at fault for.

Is the the worst keeper in the league - obviously not, but given his most recent form of last season, then if that is the player we buy then we've spent 20+ million to bring in an older player no better than what we already have, and his most recent form is what you have to base him on - same as with Hart etc
