I'm gutted that this seems to be happening even at £15mil I'd still have huge reservations. Hope he will prove me wrong but he's got Richard Wright markII hovering over him in my opinion. Pickford offered nothing in my view other than a half decent shot stopper, too slow off his line can't command his box in set pieces and punches at every cross (pet peeve of mine)

Szczesny is apparently available with Juve looking at him, I'd go for him he'll be half the price has experience of technical football with Arsenal and now in Italy as well, 27 is a great age too.

If Sandro, Klaassen, Pickford, Keane and Rooney get announced - Rom may change his mind.

Imagine if that happened, I'd be beyond excited for next season.

Although all are very highly rated, they are not exactly Lacazette, Willian, VVD etc. Plus I think we could sign Messi and Rom would still want to go to Chelsea.

Pickford, Keane, Klaassen and Sandro is a whole new spine of players aged 24 and under.

IF they all sign... no ink on any dotted lines yet and this is Everton. Hoping now we have Walsh we can get things done before others swoop in to do the deal after we have been used as the negotiating table to set the fee. Here's hoping though.

I totally disagree. Richard Wright was a very limited keeper, this lad has the potential to be one of the best keepers in the country. He has the right build and is already a great shot-stopper. With a bit of coaching he'll be spot on. Look at what our goalkeeping coach has done for Robles, his positional sense was appalling, and now it's just poor!

..I can remember us being on the verge of signing Walker when he was at Sheffield United.
Wasn't Walker, was the other lad they had and Spurs came in and took both off us, can't remember the lads name, think he's at Norwich now

Noughton maybe?

Posted this before I seen it had already been answered.

Imagine pickford will be roughly 20 up front (steep but sod it) then 5 ish after so many first team apps say 50, then the other clause could be champions league qualification. if Sunderland are savvy a better option would be after he makes a set number of full England appearances, which is more guaranteed. Effectively they'll get another 5 next season, then if he breaks into England team after we cock the world cup up, another 5 season after.

Have to improve the squad, like City and Chelsea did before the big names would come. City only got Robinho because he thought he was going to Chelsea.

If we had CL different story but we don't, Keane, Pickford are better then we currently have. No idea about Sandro or Klass as never seen either play

You've just defeated your own argument "potential" you don't pay £30mil to coach potential "right build" oh come on, Forster is built like a Greek god by comparison "great shot stopper" no he isn't he's a good shot stopper but, Like Wright at Ipswich he was peppered so got more exposure for what he did save. He still fished the ball out more than won the game with a great save.
