I had a little think last night, I thought maybe Rom will see us making some decent moves for quality and stay, but then, the words "Thats not an option", those words.
Totally understand your thinking but I for one don't actually want Lukaku around anymore.
Replacing his goals is the task of the Koeman and Walsh and with the names mentioned they clearly have a plan (so they should of course as highly paid professionals) of how to set us up and to compensate and dare I say improve.
Furthermore I personally would much rather see the goal burden/mantel/challange spread around the team and not be solely reliant on one individual.
I also think the 'team' will be more cohesive spirited and stronger for having lots of key stars than one 'main man'.
I saw Lukaku at the 1878 lounge a while back being presented with a MOM award. His level of detachment and indifference was totally at odds with the level of admiration and privilage he enjoys.
Cracking player on his day, which in fairness is often but he casts a shadow with his continuous and very public yearning for the 'top 4 clubs from euro leagues money bags competition' blah blah. Glad to hear no more of it.

I completely agree. I don't necessarily want him to go, but its getting emotionally exhausting having Rom around.

Boy, when Rom comes back to Goodison he's gonna get it.
I personally think that it is nice to welcome previous players warmly when they've played with desire and dignity and just plainly ignore the rest.
Can you imagine coming onto the pitch expecting dogs abuse and wanting to use it get your game going but being totally blanked as if you'd never played for us, more crushing me thinks.

Totally. Awesome at times, very good a fair portion of the time but uh, the baggage. I have muscle wastage in my optical nerves the amount of times I've rolled my eyes at his chattering.
Anyway, lets forget him and move on. Exciting times ahead hopefully.

Can he or Kalssen play out wide at all? Assuming he's an alternative to Sigurdsson if we're in fact interested.

No idea about Calhanoglu but Klassen just plays centrally. He's not got the pace to play out wide. I read on evertonrumours (from an editor) that we are interested in signing either Klassen or Siggurdson or both depending on wether Ross goes.

All I know about Calhanoglu is he's amazing at freekicks.

Looking like this is the week, when big Ronke swings into action with his signings.

Let's hope he has a plan B, just in case some of them don't come off.

The fume on here will be glorious if not ;)

Evertonians do love a fume though. I'd prefer pleasant suprises and optimism but if the fume train rolls in, I'm on-board.

Sounds like our knowledge levels are about the same then. I liked the idea of Sigurdsson in addition to Klassen because Sigurdsson can play wide in a front 3. Klassen and the Turkish feller seem to play the same position almost exclusively. Not that I mind having options. Just seems we've got more holes to fill still.

Had a spell of 'liking' others posts today..... generally warm feeling brought on by many transfer rumours about the blues. At this stage its not about making key deals - its about filling the summer (and the press) with thoughts of new (and sometimes exotic) players wearing royal blue next season. Doesn't matter if they don't all work out, in fact its best if some don't and go to Spurs, but sit back and enjoy the ride for now (ooh er missus!).... remember previous windows when we weren't even mentioned in rumours for weeks!!!

According to you, what is this outrageous price we are going to pay?
I don't know if it is one yet or it isn't, haven't seen many 30 million quid keepers in my day. The last record for a british goalie was for Fraser Forster at about 10 million. As I said, I can't judge really if he's worth it or not having not seen him much.
