Summer Transfer Window 2017

Is this for real, Pickford and possibly klassen and Niang, if it is I'm staggard at the speed we are doing things, it's un heard of Everton signing players quick, it usually goes on for week so they don't even play our friendlies. Sigurdsson next please.

...there was a lot of criticism of Walsh last summer but he had hardly got his feet under the table for a full and proper evaluation of the teams requirements or to do any groundwork. Whether we agree with individual signings or not, if we bring these players in early it confirms a strategy and underlines the position of a DoF.

If attitude is all that's holding him back then bring him on, Koeman knows how to bring the best out of willing players. Has absolutely obvious talent and potential.

I don't want to see a single person write him off that also think Geri is class. Practically the same player.

Looks like Niang is Lukaku's replacement?....don't want him on the wings if he joins, want him used up front to see what he can do. Tall, pacey, good first touch. Two-footed. Hopefully Koeman gets him motivated and firing.

Why is every striker we are linked with a 'Lukaku Replacement'? We've just lost two strikers this Summer already, we need to get some back up strikers because its an area we lack players big time.

No but you have to have watched a player properly a few times to be form an accurate opinion don't you think?
Yes, that's precisely my point and wasn't what you said.

That's easily done with the amount of live games there are on tv therefore there's plenty of valid opinions of Niang knocking about.

FWIW on Niang.

Having actually watched Milan a fair few times over the past two seasons, I've seen a fair bit of him.

The lad has a lot of talent. An abundance, actually, and when he's on his game he's a real threat. Pace, power, and makes a general nuisance of himself.

Consistency is his issue. I'm not privvy on his attitude so who knows if that's why, but he could never seem to string more than 2 or 3 decent performances together.

However, I do think he fits the mould in terms of a player who can play anywhere across the frontline and is young.

I'm on the fence about Niang. I'd have liked better, and I reckon Keita may well have been the first target, but we've moved quickly to get him in and I trust Walsh and Koeman's judgement on this one.

Possibly but I don't expect many on here with an opinion watch Milan or Watford often regardless of what's on TV.

Pickford and Klaasen are the lowest standard of player we should be going for this window really, don't get me wrong they're both good signings (from what i've seen) but we need more quality, not players like Niang

He's an advanced midfielder not an attacker.

How can anyone argue he isn't?!

In Koeman's 4-3-3 'template' (for lack of a better word) Barkley is a forward.

i.e. he'll be utilised mainly (not all the time) as one of the three attackers, most likely out wide right.

If he stays, I think this will continue to be the case. His upturn in form last season coincided with him moving to the front three. That literally is fact.
