Summer Transfer Window 2017

We certainly need more in, after shelling out £60m it won't stop there.

Keane £25m
Sigurdsson £30m +
Lukaku replacement £30m +

That's practically £150m and we should recoup in excess of £100m if Lukaku + Barkley and other fringe players leave. So quite a transformation for little outlay which would be great.

The only other issue is how many more, if any, Koeman would be comfortable in adding without undue disruption to the squad and concerns about so many new players bedding in.

My guess is another 4 in maximum. Keane, another striker, Sigurdsson or cheaper equivalent and cheap or free RB cover such as Martina.

That would represent a really good window without huge outlay. Still leaves some holes in the squad but I doubt if we could logistically accomodate any more new players in the same window without defeating the purpose here.

Best way to spend 150m
Koulibaly 60
Thorgan hazard 15
Batshuayi 30
Dembele 20
Deobonker 30m

Offload McCarthy, Del

Summer transfer complete.

Who needs Sigurdson when we have klassen and Sandro, both are lethal at setpiece.

By all accounts he's very happy there and doesn't want to go and warm a bench for someone in the Premier League.

He gets to be the main man, doesn't get put under the microscope and is allowed to develop.

The Celtic fans accept that he will go one day in the future though.
Sure, but if someone is going to offer Celtic 30M for him, you'd think they could replace him easy enough and find another player or two on top of it. He's good, but he's not irreplaceable I wouldn't think.

In Holland, Dolberg, Sanchez and De Ligt are the ones...Jorgensen wont cut the physicality.

Dembele did well at Fulham and finds it easy in Scotland, Tierney seems like the one to go for there though.

As for Lukaku, I think he would probably stay if we went and brought in a truly top player like VVD or Koulibaly...

No disrespect to the new boys and the names linked but at Chelsea he would be favourite for a winners medal, we need to show we will go for the top stars to turn his head.

VVD/Koulibaly or similar level players would do that.

I would say either of them could be classed as "top stars".

Expensive stars maybe.

We've already spend a bit already, tho...

...but those two aren't even in the same league as Siggy at setpieces. Sandro isn't going to be taking corners, either.

If Rom goes, we could definitely do worse than Bats+Dembele, but I'm skeptical of Dembele - that league is sooooo weak and I don't think he's ready to step in. And if you are already the man at Celtic, why would you want to be on the bench half the time at Everton?

Depends where they come from. English based players won't take as long to bed in as they will used to the league.

I like Dembele but it would be a risk IMO going into the season with him + Sandro + DCL as our main striking options. And I think RK will use Sandro out wide.

You could argue even with Sandro signing that we need another 2 strikers with Lukaku out but I doubt we'll go for 2. Lukaku's man-for-man replacement is probably going to be our biggest signing of the window and obviously critical to get right.

I like Batshuayi, doesn't need adapting to English football but wonder if that would prove just another complication if we are going to attempt that deal for Lukaku + cash. Be interesting to see who RK / SW have in mind assuming Sandro isn't being signed as the main replacement.

What we've spend now is the summer transfer budget not inclusive of the money we get for Lukaku + Barkley. We'll have enough firepower to score more from open play than to rely on corners.
Dembele moving to premiere league is a logical career progression. Every footballer does that during the course of their career. Prime example Lukaku, being the main man for us won't stop him from choosing Chelsea.

Dembele did it in the championship and is all about pace.

Dolberg and De Ligt would be young players adapting to the league.

Jorgensen is what, 28?

He's 26.

Dembele didn't exactly tear up the Championship. He was decent, and a move to Celtic did him a world of good.

Dolberg isn't 'physical' in the sense he's a big strong player either. He uses his body cleverly to shield the ball though.

De Ligt is built like the proverbial but is only 17.

Jorgensen is 6'3 and physically very strong.

I'm not saying I want him or that we're even in for him - I imagine he's just one of many targets, but he'd certainly fit the mould of the 'target man' type I think we'd be after.
