Not sure consistently average is what we really need though?

Consistently average is a bit harsh actually. To be fair, if Blind was here last year, I'd have him as our number 1 CB. Not as commanding as Williams, in some ways he's like Funis Mori without having the odd shocker in him.

Besides, we need a big squad of proper top half prem players if we're to challenge both in Europe and for top 4. Blind is definitely in the category, solid but understated. He played more games last year for United than any defender except Bailly and Valencia. More importantly he has a great injury record.

Seems a great lad too, nothing suspect on his instagram and has been shuffled around in pretty much every position in defence/mid field while at United and seemingly never complained. Was tempted to mention him on here earlier, but honestly thought I'd get slated.

Dortmund are one of the top clubs in Europe mate.

He's a very good manager.

Personally I wish we had the opportunity to go for Tuchel. He'd have us playing.

Funny thing is Dave, you don't like Koemans style of man management then you definitely wouldn't like Tuchel, fell out with players at both clubs he's managed and is very abrasive

You think Bosz is a great manager when all he's done is won the 2nd and 5th tier of Dutch football, lost the Dutch league with the biggest team in Holland and lost the Europa League.

You wrote off all of Koemans honours in Holland, saying it's a rubbish league and means nothing unless it's in a major league, then when pointed out he'd won the Spanish Cup, back tracked and made out the Spanish Cup is easy to win.

Koemans record in Holland and Europe owns this guy, yet you fail to acknowledge anything he's achieved despite rating Bosz who has a far worse record in a 'rubbish' league, according to you.

You're a total joke.

Are you Daley Blind?

If there's one thing which is as close to guaranteed as you can get for a 19 year old its Dolberg being a superstar in the future.

Forget the final, some of his touches, link up play, movement and goals were outrageous last season.

If we signed him it would be akin to signing the new bergkamp/van basten

Worth the admission fee that boy.
I thought that when I first saw him at the end of last season. I rated him and said so on here. He can slot when given a chance. But in the games I watched of late it's noticeable that he goes missing and drifts out of games.

...they did disappoint in that game, but let's not forget they did get to the EL final which is a fine achievement.
It is a good effort. When you're in a two horse race in a very poor Dutch league though it allows you to prioritise the EL much more than any PL club can. Bear in mind that Ajax apart from four games versus PSV and Feyenoord will have sauntered in third gear all the way through the season and given all their attention to EL fixtures.

He's 19 in his first senior season of football, ofc at the end of the season he wasn't turning it on every single game mate, tell me how many 19yo's do including Ronaldo at that age for example.

He did a huge part to get Ajax got the final in the first place by a goal in each semi final and an absolutely brilliant performance in the first leg against Lyon who where having everyone raving about them prior to that game.

By going missing and drifting out of games - what you really mean is the final against united though don't you? unless you think the games against Lyon he was poor in?

We are asking for 100m for a striker btw, one who makes a habit of doing exactly that against United - including in a semi final of the FA cup

There's a difference between falling out over football stuff and falling out and then dragging players names through the media. A big difference.

Tuchel's style would have been great. Just what we would have needed.

You fell at the first fence mate. I said he's a very good manager.

Only 5 different teams have won the English Premier League in the past 20 seasons. Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd, and fluky/freak Leicester. How is that any different to 2/3 teams dominating the Dutch league? Barcelona or Real Madrid have been the champions of the La Liga 17 times out of the past 21 champions ffs.

The Dutch league has had 5 different champions in the last 9 seasons.
