Dave that UEFA league ranking is purely on their results in European competition. That does not reflect the actual quality of the leagues. For example the top 4 teams get more teams in Europe so even on that its unbalanced than some of the lower leagues mentioned.

There's clearly many factors in real life on the actual quality of leagues not just some UEFA Coefficient table based on results in Europe.

How can it not reflect the quality of the leagues when the coefficient is based on qualification and advancement in EUEFA's two tournaments? If the three usual suspects of the Dutch league are usually in there, they are in there because they are the cream of Dutch football. It means the rest are continually poor.

I thought that when I first saw him at the end of last season. I rated him and said so on here. He can slot when given a chance. But in the games I watched of late it's noticeable that he goes missing and drifts out of games.

I think it's more to do with the fact he's primarily a slotter and not an all round forward.

Well I can't remember the last time a Turkish side got to a European final. With Portugal 4 teams have won national titles since 2000 and overall the Dutch league is better quality when you compare teams.

The Dutch league is at best the standard of the Championship. Yes there are in effect three teams who are head and shoulders in terms of resources, history and indeed support above the rest but for me the standard is summed up when a manager like Steve McLaren goes there and wins the league.
There is no doubt that just like every league from time to time a player of real quality comes through but overall this is a very poor league
