He did a huge part to get Ajax got the final in the first place by a goal in each semi final and an absolutely brilliant performance in the first leg against Lyon who where having everyone raving about them prior to that game.

By going missing and drifting out of games - what you really mean is the final against united though don't you? unless you think the games against Lyon he was poor in?

We are asking for 100m for a striker btw, one who makes a habit of doing exactly that against United - including in a semi final of the FA cup

You cant compare a top striker in that league with one in the PL. It's absurd. His tests came in the EL and he passed many of them. But consider (as already mentioned) that players in the Dutch league's top three can target all their energy on Europe and peak for those games whilst coasting through Eredivisie.

I'm a fan of his style. I like the easy way can glide past defenders and find the net from difficult angles. How impressive he really is though has a massive question mark hanging over it.

The Dutch league has had 5 different champions in the last 9 seasons.

It's not a good league mate. Rated 13th by UEFA.

If you prefer a winner then you're in trouble, because this feller hasn't won a balloon for ten years...and the trophies he got before that were of the Michael Mouse variety.
 

wait wtf. looking at the rankings, Switzerland is ahead of Holland?? I swear Basel have won like 8 years in a row.

Dave that UEFA league ranking is purely on their results in European competition. That does not reflect the actual quality of the leagues. For example the top 4 teams get more teams in Europe so even on that its unbalanced than some of the lower leagues mentioned.

There's clearly many factors in real life on the actual quality of leagues not just some UEFA Coefficient table based on results in Europe.
