- The Shields Gazette reports Sunderland Manager, Simon Grayson, has made his first signings with Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning about to be unveiled on loan from Everton. Aiden McGeady is set to follow.

- BBC journalist, Richard Askam, says the Lukaku camp favour a move to Manchester United over Chelsea.

- According to Sky Sports News reporter, Kaveh Solhekol, Everton have made a tentative enquiry for Arsenal's French international, Olivier Giroud. The Express suggest Giroud could join Everton before the end of this week.

- Outlets are widely suggesting Wayne Rooney is on his way back to Goodison. The Express and others report that Rooney will join Everton this week, 13 years after leaving the Toffees. OldTrafford.com say the player has withdrawn from Uniteds pre-season tour to the USA and a deal with Everton is done. The Mirror go as far as saying Rooney will partner Giroud next season.

- The Liverpool Echo suggests Everton might beat their previous transfer record from from the summer of 1981 when Howard Kendall brought 7 new players into the first team squad, with 5 making their debuts on the opening day.

- The Metro reckon Pochettino wants Ross Barkley at Spurs but will not pay the asking price of £50m.

- 4th Official says both Everton and Arsenal are keen on Bayer Leverkusen winger, Karim Bellarabi.
