What will we achiever with a team full of potential and no one proven in the PL?

Then why are you so excited with Sandro? I'm fine with a proven striker capable of scoring goals as long as he comes in and give us the best 5 years of his career.

Batshuayi and dembele have plenty of time to improve, we'll be buying potential.

Giroud will be on a decline as with every other striker once they reach 30. I'll be surprise if he'll be as decent as he is now in 2 years time. And we'll probable sign him on a 3/4 year deal. what's the point in the long run?

We don't want potential, we don't want to win in 2-3 seasons time. We don't want to buy players for sell on potential.

We need a proven goal scorer, we need to win every game and pick up a trophy this season, we need to be replacing experienced and proven centre forwards every 2 seasons to keep that flow of winning. Winning = Prize money in case you are worried how we will fund it.

I wish we'd shake off this budget/moneyball/production line mindset.

I can't see why this isn't possible, Arsenal have signed Lacazette while not having champs league.

Just needs some serious ambition

Yeah but Arsenal have been in the CL every year for 20 years or so. Players going there can see that it is just a short step to getting back in the CL. We had a play-off round 12 years ago and have never been in the groups.

As for the points about strikers/scorers being aged 30+ ... Ibra, Ronaldo, Messi just renewed contract, original Ronaldo, Raul, Totti, Sheringham, Shearer, Klose, Giggs, Bergkamp, Drogba...

Spurs are a prime example of buying potential and bringing youth through

Young squad and look at them now.

Whereas Man City's team got old (they're trying to youthen) as they went backwards
City couldn't stick with a model, look at their turnover of managers. Plus they simply go out and replace with monies won on the back of what they have earned through sponsorships/tv/league/cup/europe etc. Plus an. Average age of 29 last year hardly the Post Office que was it!

Spurs are doing well but where is all this's youth but they got very lucky with Kane and Delli, I still think only 5 regulars were under 25, of them only Alli was a punt really. Others are their own youth Janssen and Erikson both had big reputations one hit one miss!
