Summer Transfer Window 2017

City couldn't stick with a model, look at their turnover of managers. Plus they simply go out and replace with monies won on the back of what they have earned through sponsorships/tv/league/cup/europe etc. Plus an. Average age of 29 last year hardly the Post Office que was it!

Spurs are doing well but where is all this's youth but they got very lucky with Kane and Delli, I still think only 5 regulars were under 25, of them only Alli was a punt really. Others are their own youth Janssen and Erikson both had big reputations one hit one miss!

Yes they were lucky to bring through Kane who's probably the biggest sensation since Rooney came through for us (shows how rare it is) but they seem to sign younger and mid twenties players who are improving / in their prime. Plus they can sell if the players don't do well enough.

Signing an older player it's hard to sell them on if they don't perform and they're usually past their best.

I hope that the fact we have signed younger players this year means we want to try and emulate the spurs model as that seems to be working

I'd love Batshuayi, but assuming we get Giroud;

Giroud
Sandro
Lookman
Mirallas
Calvert-Lewin
(Rooney?)

Let's not kid ourselves. That's plenty, and what Koeman will go with.

Must admit I want us to buy someone that makes the rest of the PL and supporters of other clubs sit up and take notice, Rooney everone expects us to get, Giroud would be a coup but still not the star signing that makes people sit up and take notice. who that player is I've no idea but when his name is splashed in yellow at the bottom of the sky sports channel I want all footy fans to be screaming fecken ell have you seen who Everton have bought. So reach for the stars, go for the impossible, go for Moratta, Lewandowski or whoever, as I've always told my kids if you don't ask you don't get, until you try you'll never know.

Yes I agree, so far we seem just to be following the curve.

Giroud from what I understand wants to stay at the Arsenal, not sure we will be signing him.

If we get a big number for Lukaku we really should focus on Icardi and test interns resolve.

Van Dijk or James Rodriguez would do nicely

Icardi is a tit tbh, and Inter won't sell.

They're demanding £50m for Perisic. They'd want £90/100m for Icardi.

If we're going to go for one of the 'in vogue' strikers from Europe, I'd imagine we might try for Belotti or maybe even Dembele, Dolberg.

Then why are you so excited with Sandro? I'm fine with a proven striker capable of scoring goals as long as he comes in and give us the best 5 years of his career.

Because that's 1 player with potential for £5m? A team full of Sandro deals I would not be confident with.

Throw in Ross (or his replacement) and Bolasie as well mate.

That'd be eight 'forwards' (as Koeman sees them) for three positions.

A variety of styles and physicality across the board, as well as a balance of youth and experience.

Surely his replacement is already lined up. Find out next week I suppose. Reckon it will be Dembele.

He would be my first choice aswell, but Celtic are not willing to even entertain offers until after the champions league qualifiers (late august).

Are we willing to wait for him? Are we even interested?

I think if by the time the season kicks off and we havent signed a proper centre forward i would probably say its likely

The way things are going here I think I'd be prepared to hold my nose and bid for Vardy. I cant believe I'm even posting that.

We wont get Giroud. Forget it. And I'd be inclined toward a proven PL slotter than some hopeful (or even accomplished player) from another league. He's horrible, but he might be the only viable player to fill the void.

Vardy is a rat Dave.

We don't need rats in the team.
