Actually, I'd take a chance on Benteke. He is a monster in the air and he'd get plenty of chances created for him by an Everton team with Rooney, Sandro and possibly Klaassen if he makes the leap in class demanded by the PL. Even if you dont play him every game he'd be able to change the dynamic off the bench.
Agree. We play to a target man. He would fit the bill as would Giroud. Either one would be a good choice.

Actually surprised a couple agree, thought I was going to be slated for the suggestion.

He's 26 and his numbers are really good, and as I said previously, really good hold up and amazing in the air, wonder what Palace would ask? Could have sworn they said he was for sale a month or two ago.

totally different types of player though.

If we're going for Giroud, I don't see Vardy being the back-up option.
No, I concede that. I'm looking at this from a 'fill the goals vacuum' we've just been presented with. Giroud wont come here. Vardy can score.

Keeping Lukaku was the only answer really!

Much prefer Giroud, like. He's a better all round player.
I think Giroud would put in a shift and not lollygag around. He could be a huge fan favorite. He will have the tools around him for the supply this year. If he is thinking World Cup we have to be in the mix in his thinking not bench warming and getting the odd game with Wenger.

Puts Rooney's belly to shame.

That cant be real

Anyone know what the actual case was with Dembele at FF a few weeks ago?

I know Dave Downie off the blue room said he was there and a few people suggest it was for an advert of some type.

Has anything escalated at all from that or was that the actual case? He throws a few little hints in on podcasts on twitter, but is all that tongue in cheek?

Not sure on Giroud.

I think he may come here if we offer the right amount of money... Though I'm not confident Arsenal would sell to us.

And well, we've got Sandro. He will need time to settle though, and is a different type of striker once again. So, getting Rooney makes perfect sense. He's nowhere near as bad as people are making out, still has plenty to offer and will provide the experience to ensure the pressure isn't on a 21/22 yr old Sandro to settle straight away.

It also gives us time and a bit of leeway with our next target (or targets). Breathing room, basically.

Personally, I don't think he was at FF.
