Summer Transfer Window 2017

totally agree with that last sentence, although on the other hand i start to wonder if we have too many good youngsters. We have a lot atm and what we need to decide in the summer is if we want to buy a few more and let them grow as a team, showing patience which will see them as a force in 3 or 4 years or do we go for prime players now.

I think we need 3 or 4 prime players for the first team right now, but with players like baines who only have a couple of years left in them, having a youthful enthusiastic backup who won't be chucked into the prem straight away, but can slowly ply their trade, so when those players in their prime years are coming towards their twilight, we have those youngsters coming through at a good age to really push them a few years down the line whilst also not negating success for the here and now.

Maybe sess is not the best example seeing as he'll still be a teenager in 3 years time ha, but some players just come through and are that special.

I think we need a 1st 11 and a 2nd 11 with the 2nd 11 comprising of u21 players who are able to rotate into the side and eventually claim spots as their own.

So far, I can see Holgate, Davies and Lookman as players who can start games and perform.
Then, Pennington and DCL who don't seem ready yet along with Galloway who could be Holgate's equal on the left side.

Beyond that we have Walsh, Dowell, Kenny, Connolly, Browning and Williams it seems and we need to see them in action again.

I think we need;
1 Forward to rotate with Lukaku
2 Centre mids (keep Gana/Davies/Morgan + sell Barry, McCarthy, Besic) or 1 if Williams or Walsh come through
2 Centre backs
1 Left back
1 Keeper

That's 6 or 7 players of which I would be happy with Pickford, Keane and Sessegnon as 3 of them.

I'd like to see a superstar CB signed but the rest i'd be happy with u21s as they're going to be rotation options to begin with.

The first eleven midfield and attacking options are sorted so its about backing them up and improving the keeper and defence now

Unfortunately they've shipped a fair few against the other teams in the league too

Ha, fair. Tbh buffon could play for Sunderland and ship loads and loads, they're one of the worst prem teams of all time, he definitely has made a lot of their defeats less embarrassing.

Leicester have been a lot better defensively now that the players can be arsed. Schmeichel did not impress me today though.

Wouldn't be be excited with Schmeicheal to be honest. He's 30 now, not ancient by any means but I think someone like Pickford has room for much more improvement.

See thats another thing with Schmeicheal, he wont have a resale price on him as big as Pickfords for example, you spend 20 on that kid you could proberbly get it back with good interest in 3 years time, Schmeicheal on the other hand im not so sure about, he really isnt showing any sign of ever being a top keeper but Leicester will want a good fee for him

this isn't kenwright's everton now, we should not be thinking of re-sale whatsoever.

That's true but we still need to be sensible, Walsh was saying before we need value for money, that alone will rule out the likes of Hart and Schmeichel right away

i don't think every signing will be viewed that way, we have a squad too much full of either youngsters or players over 30, we need more gana's and schneiderlin's in this summer imo who will make us a force for the next 4 or 5 years.

Just so long as we don't turn into a liverpool who have to sell their best players after one good season, we'll be fine.
