Is Schmeicel really much better than Robles? I don't see it.
No he isn't, his name has handed him a rep, if we are going to spend on a keeper he has to be a level up and Schmeichel clearly isn't.
To even look at a premier league keeper shows a lack of scouting, it's one thing us fans talking about them, but these guys should know what's out there far and wide.

To think we could have signed Kone from Sunderland for £20m.

They will be lucky to get 1/3rd of that now.

He might well have gone on to be excellent under Koeman but his stock has plummeted under Moyes.
I think there is a player in Kone, if we could get him for under £10 mil I think it would turn out a good buy

In all honesty I think Pickford is too raw and too small, needs another couple of years to develop further, needs also to get on the weights too, looks like he will get blown away over winter time.

I liked Kone the first season at Sunderland and I don't believe you become absolute toilet overnight, so there might be a good player in there somewhere especially if we can get him for around 12 million when they go down.

Have heard from numerous people that Keane is done with the agreement in place since January window as they wanted to keep him to keep them up, although I did hear that ManUre were interested too as they are letting either Jones or Smalling go.

The talk that some people like Maguire from Hull is astounding, he is absolutely woeful, this carthorse would make Billy Wright look world class, the guy should lay off the steak and kidney puddings.

Finally Naisse, he isn't good enough for our front line whatsoever, even though he has scored a few, if we get him off the books at 10 million plus the 50k per week he is on there should be a party held at Goodison.

I'm sure I read somewhere that part of the loan agreement was that if Hull stay up they have to pay £10m for Niasse, similar to Watford having to pay for Cleverley after X amount of games. Is that right? If so I'm praying they can make it, there's no other way we would get that money back.

The only Premier League keeper we should be wanting is Pickford.

Pickford isn't ready, he looks better than he is as he spends all day making saves in that woeful Sunderland team. He lacks experience at the minute which means he is positionally naive, it will come with time but we need a top goalie now, not in a few years.
Every top team needs a top goalkeeper and if we want to really challenge then we have to go out and get one, problem is there aren't many available. For me the best option is Butland, he's a class act already, has so much improvement in him and would be getable, the obvious problem is how he has recovered from injury and will he get the chance to prove it before the end of the season

Pickford may look lightweight mate, but dunno if you saw the game against United, 50/50 with Zlatan. Goes on with no fear and absolutely flattened him,and got up instantly, Zlatan was the one who looked shaken up big time by that, lads brave and stronger than he looks like.

Problem with pickford is to get him it'd have to be now, one or two more years he'd be bought as a starter for the likes of city etc, to bridge the gap we need to take calculated gambles on players,

That's a fair point, think it would more be Arsenal who would be chasing him, can't see City bringing him in if Hart can't play from the back.
Problem is he still has so much improvement to make before he makes a difference to us, for us to get in the top 4 we need a goalie now otherwise we might as well stick with Joel who will improve too.
I agree on taking gambles, but it has to be in the right positions, gambling on a 19 year old striker who still gets 15-18 goals knowing he will be a 25+ in a couple of years is different to signing a keeper who looks a good shot stopper in a team that is constantly under pressure, but there is no way of knowing how good his all round game is and how much he will improve, as he doesn't get the chance to display it.
Personally I'm not convinced on Pickford, he may well go on to be a good keeper but not a great one, only time will tell and I've been wrong many times before but I wouldn't want us to gamble on him when better options are available, I reckon Tom Heaton is a better shot stopper than him anyway

Pickford
Trippier - De vrij - Keane - Bertrand
Davies - Schneiderlin - Gana
Barkley - Lukaku - Sigurdsson
