Well duh, thats cos Vinny J is an actual supreme footballing talent.

He wouldnt cost "back up" money, I think hes a "back up" to Giroud, we wouldnt sign 2 lumps, well, I doubt we would.

From what ive seen, Giroud is vastly superior, but hes also older.

Now Rooney seems all but done, I'm not sure where I stand on Giroud. Our pace will suffer if we bring them both in.

Both are clever players, Giroud and Rooney I mean, they would have people doing the legwork around them, Sandro, Lookman, Klaassen etc and yes, they are both slow, but I cant see it being a major issue. Its all about options, what works in 1 game wont work in another, we should have several options at the end of this window.

Havent really seen any batman links personally, cant see Chelsea even loaning us a pencil, nevermind selling us a player atm.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Hull asking for around £8m for Robertson - that seems like a very reasonable fee.

Add in Ghezzal on a free and there's our winger and left back positions sorted.

So as things currently stand we've brought in Pickford, Keane, Klaassen, Sandro and Rooney (pretty much done) and shipped out Cleverly, Lukaku, Delefeou, Kone and Valencia. Gibson must have been a high earner as well before he left for wage purposes as was McGeady.

Net spend appears to be around £0.

How much do we think we realistically had as a transfer budget before any sales?
This could still be boosted by possible departures of McCarthy. Niasse will also be on big wages so ideally we'll get him off the payroll.
