Benteke is a major swerve for me. There was a good feature on him at one stage last season were ex pros were absolutely slating him for being disinterested and not getting in the box when wingers were getting to good positions to cross. A striker who doesn't want to score goals can jog on.

This is what I think, im sure Liverpool leading goal scorer was on 12, but they got the CL and we came 7th with the Chelsea super fan scoring twice as many, for me its how many the squad score not one person

This is the problem, like Swansea they would hold us to ransom for about 50m.
We should look at Willian Jose or Bakambu. Could probably get one of them for under 30. Both in the 25/26 year old range and know how to score.

the only reason i'd be against benteke. I've been a massive fan ever since he first came over here, i've always said his all round game was a lot better than lukaku's, hence why he's been ahead of him for belgium for so many years.
He's a great focal point and has a fantastic scoring record. I was a bit gutted when the RS bought him, then i quickly said "rodgers won't play to his strengths and he'll flop and be sold after a season". And well, it happened exactly like that. He flopped and still scored 1 in 3 for them! don't think there was a vast majority of starts in those games either. It was such a stupid brainless signing by them.
but then palace went and wrecked it all by paying such an extortionate fee, there's no way they should have gone above 20 for him given how much his rep had plummeted. That now means they won't accept for anything under £45m imo. For that price, as well as the laughable fee given for siggurdsson earlier i'd swerve ... but then again, would we rather pay a bit extra for players we know can do it in this league vs risks from abroad? It's not my money at the end of the day and if we're successful i suppose it doesn't matter one jot how much we spent, but it does set us up to be absolutely ripped off in the future.
at the end of the day giroud seems to be linked for £20m, benteke would be double that at least, so i don't understand how it can be one or the other (we wouldn't buy both, that's for sure).

Not benteke or dzeko please, we need a younger back to goal player with pace who can work with Sandro and Rooney, I still think Josh King is worth a punt.

But you are missing something important. Tekers always scores against the RS if we could get him and Bolasie on the pitch at the same time we may just may win a derby at the dump. For that he is worth 25 million alone.

his strike rate has been brilliant throughout his career. Internationally it's the same rate as rom (may actually be a tad better) and his all round play is a hell of a lot better. He's mercurial, possibly moody, but i think if he had some great players around him he'd be top class.
