Please not Benteke - it would totally take the shine off what has been a glorious transfer window! It would be hard to believe he has not been scouted and found to be lacking in the pressing game. As others have noted it would also be hard to believe we don't have a plan to replace the man who told us he was leaving before last season ended. I have faith Walshy and Ron know what they are up to. All the talk of being more productive ....

The rumour mill for Tuesday morning;

- Radio Sarajevo report Everton are weighing up a move for ex-Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko. The 31 year old has scored 39 goals in 49 games for AS Roma.

- According to Sky Sports News, Everton are keen on Crystal Palace forward, Christian Benteke. The Daily Mail and Croydon Advertiser also go with this story. Everton's former Head of Communications, Alan Myers, has tweeted about Everton interest in Benteke.

- The FootballTransfer Tavern suggest Ronald Koeman still wants Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, despite the acquisition of Wayne Rooney.

- 4th Official report Leicester City interest in Everton midfielder, James McCarthy.

- Sky News reporter, Kevin Solhekol has mentioned that former Everton target, Marko Arnautovic, has submitted a transfer request at Stoke.

I would actual cry. After all the boss players talked about to end up with him. He's not even woeful, he's alright at what he does, but he's just not sexy enough for new Everton.

I've not seen anything solid enough for me to be too worried as yet though.

Benteke is decent, he can hold a ball up (lukaku can't), scores goals and can head a ball (again something the big lump lukaku didn't do well given his height and size)....it's a massive yes from me.

Plus he's 26, Dzecko is 31...too old.

I dunno. De Boer said he wants Palace playing the Ajax way. Pretty sure they don't be have a lump up front. Or do they? Hipsters will tell you.

Either way, don't really want him. I did at one point though.

It won't be benteke. Can't you see we are flush with cash and a striker short well 20 goals odd so we will be linked with everybody and anybody just lets wait and see!

Possibly. I don't think anyone who has come so far is on a different level to Shaqiri, though.

He didn't prove to me last season he's on one

Problem is he has a lot of the better players, so hopefully he's an unavoidable necessary evil!

Plenty of other players out there to avoid dealing with him
