Summer Transfer Window 2017

Depth is what we currently lack. There aren't enough players of the same standard in the same position. If you get what I mean.

We've got some boss first teamers, but then there's a significant drop to some second, and especially third string players.

I agree, the lack of options to change a game has been there for years now with an over reliance on the first team. I can't remember the last time we had a subs bench where players on it could really change a game by coming on and offering something different. Even deloufeu just kinda ran into defenders rather than make an impact most of the time.

We have seen the past few months koeman can change tactics using the bench which is a massive step forward for the team, just having options to bring on who provide something different will be the game changer in the short term and possibly over the course of a few years have the youth add the depth better and better ( Walsh job) will be the long term solution.

I will say that for as long as I can remember there has been too much lip service paid to first team players making them undroppable at times which has made it difficult to build a squad. Just one season I would love to end the season with a team that has 11 players who have earned their place in it rather than automatically selected.

Would be all over Demarai Gray like a tramp on a bag of chips if he does have this reported 12 mill release clause - wouldn't necessarily be a starter but think thats good business for a young english talent. Should have been brought down when he set up Leicesters 1st on sunday but showed good pace, skill and chose the right time to pass. Has looked good whenever I have seen him. Good option to have in the squad.

Would like that. Looked class at Watford last season whenever he played and at Bournemouth this season. Mystery why Chelsea called him back for him to not even be in the squad half the time.

Pretty sure Tielemans is off to Monaco now. Shame but fair play to the lad, better going there where they develop young players than somewhere like Chelsea where he won't get a game. Heard Barcelona looking at Lemos aswell so if they're involved I don't think we have a chance.

He was utter garbage for the first few months of the season, but that was a blip. He has his form back. Or do you want rid of him based on how he played 4 or 5 montsh ago?

The first half of teh season Ross was tosh. Don't think anyone is denying that. But since he got his form back he has been assisting AOTS. So i disagree, especially as his all come from open play.

I think quite simply it was down to the fact that they sold or released 3 senior squad players in the January window, Oscar, Ivanovich and Mikel. As you say he clearlyis up to PL standards so I guess it makes sense to call such a player back as opposed to going through all the hassle and expense of bringing in someone to bring in cover for as we all know very few clubs spend in that transfer window and on top of that in terms of numbers their squad isn't really that big anyway for me he hasn't featured because they don't seem to suffer the number of injuries many other clubs have to deal with. For instance at this point in time Chelsea are not reported as having any injuries whereas Everton are reporting 6.
