In terms of budget.
We are likely to have circa £100m from the sales of Niasse, Cleverly and Lukaku.
I would like to think the budget would have been at least £50m without the sales so that would give us a budget in excess of £150m.
Spend it wisely Ronald.
I can't help but feel there are going to be a lot of very disappointed supporterswhen the sums are done come Sept1st
If Hull stay up then yes Naisse it seems will go for £10 million but that sum will probably just cover what is still owed on his original transfer but you then have to factor in from that £10 million the costs associated with a transfer . In effect there won't be any money from that transfer. Ok Everton won't owe any money in respect of the original fee but that possible transfer won't add anything to the pot.
The Cleverly transfer is a good bit of business but again it really won't add , in transfer fee terms, much to the pot. The fact that he came on a free transfer to a degree clouds matters for I suspect there would have been significant loyalty bonuses coupled with a greater than the normal 5 % of any transfer fee received payable to the player.
It's the Lukaku fee if indeed any transfer happens intrigues me. I explained in an earlier post that my guess was that if he goes for £65 million then there would be about £40 million available after costs etc are settled. As with the Naisse situation there is a plus in that there won't be any sums outstanding at that point to Chelsea but there is something else coming into play in that most clubs, like Everton won't pay the fee up front.
If and it's a big if the shareholders are able by virtue of FFP to put monies in, the £80 million already committed has to be factored in, then the question is how much wriggle room is there? I very much doubt that there is £40million as things stand . If Lukaku goes then that might get up to £75 million and potentially £100 million if Barkley also goes but a chunk of that will be spent on replacing Lukaku and indeed Barkley
