Your utterly obsessed with me man it's quite scary tbh. I can barely remember what I posted yesterday yet here you are actively trawling for a specific comment of no importance made from a random bloke on an internet forum from months ago. I honestly struggle with the thought process that goes into it, do you actively search back through all the posts or do you have like a little saved word document with the time and date off all my comments etc?

Seek help.

I quote loads of tosh bedwetting comments, i remember quite a few and you are quite consistent in making them.

Hoping we have some movement on Sigurdsson this week.

The Walcott link is bull though.

Unless it's come from Cross - as he has half-decent Arsenal connections - then nobody else at the Mirror has a clue.

We're still in the hunt for Giroud an Aubameyang isn't 'set for Chelsea' at all.

Tbf it comes from the mirror that John Cross writes for so he must have wind of some sort of link/interest if they've put it out. And it's not the first time we've been linked to him now either. It's a shame you can't get him on the pitch for long enough, but then again, if he was fit he wouldn't even be an option cos Arsenal would no way sell him!

But I think with the uncertainty of Sanchez' future I'm not sure they would let Walcott go anyway?!

It's worth slightly overpaying to get the right couple of players in now rather than later in the window. We will be able to recoup a good amount of money by selling on the surplus players in August

Transfer fees have always been ridiculous, and inflated fees have always been greeted with cries of the game being ruined. There a re plenty of examples of spending sprees going wrong, but, just as, if not more often, they go right. Forest bought Peter Shilton for £250,000 in the 70s and people said no goalkeeper was worth that much. If we'd bought him instead of Georgie Wood, we'd have won the league. Trevor Francis cost a million and won Forest the European Cup. Throughout Ferguson's time at United they overspent again and again, but they dominated English football. If the player is right then, to a great extent, the fee doesn't matter. Van Dijk is not worth £60m, but that is less a waste of money than £20m on a centre half who is only ordinary. We have to look at the player, not the price.

Was there a plan in place for replacing Rom? With the inevitability of him moving, I'm surprised that we didn't have a list of targets that we were confident were suitable and that we could get.
And if we did, in keeping with our other transfers this window, how come nothing's happened yet, (apart from links with a couple of underwhelming players).
Maybe I'm being impatient...I wanted a marquee signing.

So what would be a "marquee" signing to you? A big name? Someone for a big fee?...

Tbh I couldn't care how big a name or fee we did or didn't spend on someone, as long as the players we sign improve us and make us better then I'll be happy and tbf all our signings so far are of that mould imo.

And we will have known for a long time Rom was going so will of had numerous strikers watched and targeted and both Sandro & Rooney were players we saw as being part of the jigsaw in replacing Lukaku! Both are good but different strikers and now to piece it all together Koeman wants a target man. We seem to be keen on both Giroud & Benteke but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up bringing in a CF from the continent that's either not been mentioned yet or things have gone really quiet on, like the likes of Willian Jose, Zapata or Kalinic?!

But the good thing about already having Sandro & Rooney through the door, along with DCL, we can now take our time to make the right choice with what other striker we want to bring in. We don't have to be held to ransom on fees and not panic in to giving into these sides from the off and make them sweat it out a little over wether they will get a deal or not. So we can keep our options open and see what best presents itself before the end of the window?!
