I think Baines is still number 1 mate but I can definitely see us looking at a left sided defensive player, especially with Mori out long term

I agree mate I just can't see us doing much next season unless we seriously invest in the weak areas of the pitch. We always seem to have 2-3 positions on the pitch that are weak and cost us - last season it was the GK, CB and attacking midfield positions this season I can see it being the CB and full back positions (unless Kenny takes to it like a duck to water) as Keane is our only defender you could argue would be a first choice top 6 player (not including Coleman)

It's a massive rebuild job though isn't it mate and the way I look at it is

A) keeper sorted
B) cb sorted
C) Coleman will be back in a few months

hard to buy a new back 4 with a keeper, we've invested heavily for centre mid, got a good mix of youth, deffo still need a couple like but I think there's decent balance in there

Still 6 weeks to go as well mate so plenty of time for the finishing touches

He hasn't signed pro-terms with them so surely we just pay development fee?

Better to give them a sum that is in accordance with buying a potentially talented player. Other clubs will note that we do not penny pinch or behave inappropriately, even though we are taking their promising lads. We paid a very good fee for Keane too in his last 12 months.

None of this tapping up penny pinching garbage from the RS and Spurs. Clubs will happily trade with us if we are above board going into these utter manic fees era.

It's worth it just to wind up the fat Geordies lol

The fume up here is currently ranging from him being a judas (even though they hadn't heard of him before this bid), who will end being a no mark to them raging at being an absolute selling club and shouts to sack the board.
