I am reasonably confident that we'll get 2 or 3 players to get people excited.

They have had months now to do their homework, and build contacts with players and agents.

They should really be ready to go from June/July.

Players can always let you down at the last minute, but that is a risk you take anyway.

Surely we have done enough scouting and groundwork to make at least a few ambitious moves this time around.

Time will tell.

We disagree about Baines, but yeah he will start more than Leighton will, can see games where he plays both actually as well gainst certain teams, if this comes off, I reckon Baines will end up having a really good season next year with not having to play 50+ games.

Type of signing that shows forward thinking and would suggest we really plan to add competitive depth across the positions in order to handle cup and European games.
I cant see him coming from Schalke without 100% guarantee that he's playing week in week out. FBs are those positions that you dont rotate. If you're fit you play. Nothing tactical about it.

If this comes off and Bianes had any sense he'd be looking around for another club. But then again he might be looking to get a coaching job at Everton so might hang around. Just what Everton need, another coaching post for one of the boys.

Kolasinac would definitely be the starter in the league and I would guess would be getting games in Europa league against the small teams + cup games and a good enough player reputation wise to keep kolasinac on his toes.

I agree though, Baines may want to leave if we sign this chap...

He's welcome to stay and sit on the bench and bide his time for a LC outing or whatever.

I've said a few times that is Baines if a starting LB for Everton next season you can take all your hope and ambitions that you've built up in the last 12 months and put them on a bonfire, because him starting tells you all you need to know in reality about ambitions.

Don't hold back like. Poor Leighton :p

Either hes replaced or we sign a well thought of u21 player who will push him out over the season.

Signing the Schalke lad could mean Baines playing elsewhere in the team too, he could always have a game in the middle and it might even suit him.

I'm not overly sold on Lacazette, he's clearly talented but a large number of his goals come from penalties in the stats I've seen. He's never scored the same amount as Rom has this season and that's without Rom scoring a single penalty.

Of all the options out there he'd be worth taking the risk on though, as we'd struggle to attract anyone better.

OK I'll bite. Foster, Keane, kolasinac, trippier, sigurdsson, rooney, top replacement for Rom.

Sell deloufeu, mcgeady, Cleverley (already agreed), maybe Mccarthy or jags. Let Kone and valencia go to free wages.

We think this is doable?

Just based on the biggest links, personally I'd rather have VVD and someone younger and quicker than rooney from the continent.
