Summer Transfer Window 2017

Lots of fume about our striking targets not looking like a direct replacement for Rom. Thing is, if he leaves we will not be replacing his goals with one player. We will have to use that money to strengthen the entire squad and hope that the resulting team is stronger even though it will likely lack that one dominant goal scorer.

Between player sales and Mosh we may well have 100-150 million to spend, but with Europe coming we will have to shift deadweight, replace our striking force, address an aging defense AND add depth. Personally I think we will be shopping in the 20-30 million range and not the 40 million plus range. Not due to us being unwilling to pay that for the right player, but more that those players want champions league football. The positive is that we may well be able to add 4-5 20M plus type players.

We have too much to do to waste time tilting windmills (can't afford a repeat of last summer). We have to go for quality deals that can get done. Need 3-4 signings done early (for me at least CB, ST, GK right off the bat) and probably at least 7 total by the windows end - 2 CB, 2 ST, 1 GK, 1 FB, 1 AM - or something like that...

It is a tremendous challenge - no doubting this summer will be defining for the club.

A very precise and accurate summation of the task that faces us.

Just yesterday you accused me of slagging off the club and bringing it down. Now, what are you doing????

Back it up, prove Kenwright was the issue in these deals you mention. To me, you are making assumptions and are running with it.

Sissoko deal never happened because Farhad said McCarthy was part of the family.

Admit it, you have made this stuff up in your head without proof.

Dunno mate.... reckon bill is the reason we are poor at completing transfers tbh... this happens to us way to much to be a coincidence

No way we are signing him. This whole Bournemouth team are way too Martinez

They are phenomenal footballing side... there number of passes stats are impressive ... along with their shocking defence... probably a bit to fit to be classed as a bobby's team tho imo

Exactly. Koeman will of given Walsh the remit that he wants a target man that can hold the ball and link the play. Walsh always talks about that him and Koeman speak about systems and the way Koeman wants to play and he'll of told Walsh he wants a target man, which this Willian Jose seems to be. Not every CF from the off is prolific, look at Costa in his time at Spain before he hit it off big time at Atl. Madrid!

Now loads are saying we should go for Lacazette, Hernandez, Dembele of the top of my head etc, but are they your "target man" type CF's regardless of the goals they get? I wouldn't say so!

I don't actually think this signing, IF we make it like, is seen as Lukaku's replacement...

Belotti

If this forum is all about the very latest talent in the most freshest of form...
Gylfi siggy must not come.. .he missed a chance today....disgracefull showing. Bit like joel's insanity....he has to go. Lukaku scored so he's ok....and now The favorite boo boy Jags has to go....wait....has to stay !! He scored again..happy days !!!
