Summer Transfer Window 2017

Have to agree with this.

Siggurdson is a very good player.
But we need better than that to muscle in on Chelsea, Spurs and City.

Unfortunately if him/Rooney/Hart are the level our fans want us to aim for in the summer then we will only finish around 7th. (For what it is worth i don't think any of those players will end up here in the summer)

Whilst I agree that our 6 rivals wouldn't sign him, I'd disagree that he won't improve us beyond 7th. He'd be a very good player joining a set of largely good-very good players. I think we need to reach that tipping point first where we've got great depth, then one or two worldies needed to kick us on to the next level will actually consider us. Right now I'm not convinced they would sign for us. Chelsea and City certainly weren't signing top players this early on.

I would rather see us take a punt on more younger/ under the radar players deemed to have a high ceiling rather than established players at their peak who the top 6 would not sniff at. Surely that is how we are going to be able to compete and why we brought in Walsh.

Regarding Rooney the guy has been finished for 3 years and is on crazy money. If you removed the Everton connection would anybody mention his name? There is no place for sentiment just as he afforded us none when he left us as a teenager.

Maybe because the papers have absolutely no clue whatsoever what contracts we have offered Barkley - or would offer Sigurdsson mate.

Right now everything coming out is just pure clickbait
Lads. Please read this and take note. Come back to the thread in June, work on your personal hygiene and get out there to kiss some girls. Or other boys, whatever floats your boat. Just not this abomination of a thread you weird little ferrets.

..I like the transfer thread. I like discussing players we are linked with even if the vast majority of rumours are jarg. It's a bit of fun and sometimes the links are accurate.

If we tested that last sentence it would be a tiny %. Therefore I'm declaring it futile. It's a thread for FIFA virgins to fire off all the names they have noticed playing a computer game. Weirdos.

..I don't know what that FIFA game is and the majority of players we're linked with are new to me but I will take a gander of YouTube clips etc. I just like the transfer window even if it makes me a weirdo.

But mate , you know why we cluster in here furtively discussing fanciful transfers that will never happen, and engaging in ill informed analysis of players we've never heard of nor never will again?..............Davek very rarely visits here. .......sshhhhhhhh. :)

When thinking about what happens in summer, I am not worried at all. We are likely going to sell players that we don't have any use for like McCarthy, Funes Mori, Grant, Henen, Lennon, McGeady, Cleverley, Deulofeu, Niasse, Garbutt for something like 75 million. Add in extra money we are going to get from PL TV rights, Europa League and sponsorship money - that's another 75 millon we can use on new players. Even if Moshiri does not give us any extra penny, I expect us to spend around 150 million. And well, even if the worst case scenario happens and we have to sell both Lukaku and Barkley, then we should get around 90 million for Rom and 40 for Ross. If this the worst case scenario happens, we will have a budget of around 250 million to spend on our new starting line-up and a lot of space to take on big wages of new players. Not worried at all.
