Summer Transfer Window 2017

I think we need to look at ourselves first...

Baines and Williams are massive weak links
Holgate/Kenny need to play instead of Cuco
Koeman needs to find a formula to our attack
Players need selling or there will be disharmony
Don't think we'll be allowed to play Holgate and Kenny instead of Cuco

Klaassen? He was heavily linked with moves to Italy and other European clubs.

Pickford had the top six looking at him as well, and other Prem clubs.

Keane was supposedly on the verge of rejoining United or Liverpool (in fact, didn't plenty of articles from reliable journos say he turned down Utd in favour of first team football?).

Sandro was highly touted and Atletico Madrid were seriously interested.

Henri was a target of several European and PL clubs.

The only real player that 'had no other option' that we have brought in is Rooney...

So that first point, my apologies for being blunt, is nonsense.

The playmaker thing is in the process of getting sorted. The ball is in Swansea's court as much as it is ours.

The Giroud thing I'm sure will come to a head sooner rather than later but if we're wanting our no.1 target I don't care if we have to wait another two weeks to get him. He's a player, like Gylfi, good enough to slot right into any side without needing too much bedding in time.
Klassen I'm not even going to debate, he had a lot of interest from abroad.

Sandro had no choice if he wanted to leave. It's all fine and dandy saying Atletico were interested but they had a ban. That makes it a moot point.

Keane, sure United were interested. Then they went out and got that Swedish lad. No other interested parties.

And I have nothing to say about that Henry lad, never heard of him before we started bidding.

I'm not saying at all that we've had a bad window. We just still have holes that haven't been filled and the season starts soon. The idea that being patient = getting a player is, quite blunt, nonsense. We waited and waited all last summer and got absolutely burned.

Sandro also had interest from Real Sociedad (in Europe this year again), Valencia and Spurs had made enquiries.

Keane was heavily linked with Liverpool as well. They elected to go for VVD.

And yes, there are still holes to be filled. As long as they are filled by the end of the window, that's fine. We haven't been doing any waiting this summer, in fact I highly doubt we're waiting now. We may well have already lodged a bid with Arsenal, but they're waiting to see how the Sanchez situation goes... In which case we clearly feel confident enough not to have to jump on to plan B or C just yet.

I didn't read anything about Keane or Sandr o, iinteresting. I stand corrected..kinda. I wasn't ACTUALLY saying there was no other interest, just that we were their best options, which may not be true of those others are correct.

I just don't want to have blinders on like last year is really the main part of my posts.

With sandro he was all but signed by athletico until the ban got upheld, we'd apparently stayed in touch and left the deal on the table open for him, whilst other clubs pulled the interest due to Madrid. By the time the ban was upheld and they came back we where massively ahead of the curve, least that's what my take on what the press etc said.

Keane apparently United never pulled interest and still wanted him, but as a third choice cb, he wanted guaranteed position as a first choice. The rs interest was never gonna matter as he's a massive United fan/family is too.

With Keane we also has interest since last January so again where ahead of the curve in regards to the competition.

Same as with sigurdsson in that regards, the giroud interest seems to be following that pattern, show interest and we want him early and get the player on board with coming here and then wait for the situation to work it's course before going in to seal the deal.
