Summer Transfer Window 2017

Klassen I'm not even going to debate, he had a lot of interest from abroad.

Sandro had no choice if he wanted to leave. It's all fine and dandy saying Atletico were interested but they had a ban. That makes it a moot point.

Keane, sure United were interested. Then they went out and got that Swedish lad. No other interested parties.

And I have nothing to say about that Henry lad, never heard of him before we started bidding.

I'm not saying at all that we've had a bad window. We just still have holes that haven't been filled and the season starts soon. The idea that being patient = getting a player is, quite blunt, nonsense. We waited and waited all last summer and got absolutely burned.
Fair point we jumped in and got him, no messing paid what they wanted and turned his head.

No choice? I very much doubt that, we were apparently getting gazumped by Real Madrid at one point!? (Wages not fee obviously)

Again we went in and paid big for Keane. No messing wanted him got him.

Henry had a medical at PSG, only their demands meant he decided against going.

The other players we want are now established Prem players who are rightly waiting to see what happens at their own club. I think we are subject to other teams business now.

Leicester signing Inheanacho for £25m. Really surprised we didn't make a move for him. Would offer better value for money than 31 year old Giroud.

Because we have a nippy striker that plays on the shoulder in Sandro. Koeman wants a target man type CF, which Iheanacho isn't.

Not having a go at you in general mate but what aren't Evertonians getting when they suggest such things as we should of gone for Hernandez or be in for Iheanacho instead of the likes of Giroud. Koeman doesn't want another striker like that, he wants a tall target man that can lead the line, hold the ball up and link play and that's why he wants a Giroud type and not the likes of Iheanacho or Hernandez.....

Iheanacho is 6ft 2.

He's just over 6ft if we're splitting hairs but either way, does Iheanacho play like a target man CF in your eyes, with his back to goal, using his strength, linking play?

No probably not. But then I don't think any top team plays with a player like that. It always amazes me that someone from Holland 88 and Barca dream team favours a big man up front, lots of crosses and experienced grafters in defence and midfield.

We do look inwards when things go well, first couple of weeks we were the best squad going now 3/4 of the defence are not trusted. Koeman cant pick a team to score a goal!? We have too many players and someone will throw a strop. I know you're picking up on the general consensus here and your own view doesn't follow all the time as you're not a doom monger. I'm just amazed how a microscope has turned now to include needing to lose players...

You've put the last 3 weeks on here into a nutshell though ha!

I'm actually a pretty positive guy as you can see from a lot of my posts about players....

Personally id prefer we went out and got Chilwell for big money and then we have a left back competing and who can take over from baines...then go and get that Gibson off Boro.

...................Pickford
Kenny -- Keane--Gibson--Chilwell

All English back 5 and should be pretty robust on paper....put the 50mil for Sigurdsson and add a bit extra and sort this out.

Holgate, Williams and Baines competing for a spot with them.

In my opinion that's how you get top 4..having a solid defence, not getting Sigurdsson.

Just watching a bit of the RS game and it emphasises the issue we have in the attacking midfield and wide forward positions. They are slicing Bayern apart with the speed and movement of Mane and Salah with Coutinho as play maker. They are all pressing from the front to win the ball back. I know there is more than one way to skin a cat but are attacking midfield options concern me. I just think we are going to be so pedestrian.

Not watching but even so Saleh + Mane are very fast and Coutinho and Fermino have the nous.

Now I'm not being funny but youre saying about their attack compared to ours...

What about them vs Baines and Williams on the left and Cuco on the right

lol
