...Sky Sports Italia report Jeison Murillo's move from Inter Milan to Valencia has hit a snag because the Spanish club are unwilling to meet the £13.5m asking price. The 25 year old Colombian defender has apparently been linked with Everton since 2014.

Awful player, not the most popular amongst their supporters.

...according to French outlet, Le10Sport, Olivier Giroud has decided to remain at Arsenal. Sounds like we can change the picture at the top of this thread.
They are saying he is not going to Marseille or any French team

Olivier Giroud could soon make a decision for his future at Arsenal. A new trend is emerging.

For several weeks, Olivier Giroud has conducted a thorough reflection on his future at Arsenal . Faced with heavy competition with the signature of Alexandre Lacazette , Giroud could, according to our information, finally decide to remain despite Arsenal to try to maintain its place, whereas a decade ago, the trend Was rather initially.

If the OM is always positioned in the hope of convincing him, the converse is not true. Giroud remains little inclined to find the lawns of Ligue 1.

Maybe it gets lost in translation.

Boxrec has him down at only 5 5' 1/2
Wiki has him down at 5'6

Lineal championships mean absolutely nothing these days and haven't for a long time mate, some of the people who have held that 'honour' have actually been utter rubbish compared to other fighters in the same division.

8 world championships in different divisions, with more divisions than ever before, compare that to the achievements of the likes of Henry Armstrong, Duran, Chavez, Leonard etc

I can easily name a fighter historically who would have absolutely outclassed him in each division he has fought and been rated 'champion' in

He's a 'modern' great, in a time when boxing has been on it's arse talent wise for 10 years or more and the amount of divisions and titles dilute the quality you have to face to a ridiculous degree (and the talent around now is a shadow of what it was in prior eras of the sport)
Completely spot on!! The only reason he rose through the weights was because the standard wasn't good enough in the lighter divisions at the time

Are you been serious the talent in the lighter divisions. The men he faced were Eric morales Barrera an Marquez three Mexican legends now to say boxing is weaker than it was I agree. Say what you want but he didn't have it easy coming up them weights even when he beat ledwaba for the ibf belt he was expected to get destroyed the easy fight he took for me coming up was David Diaz for a title. The man still has an amazing record an he has fought the best. That said in my opinion he is the second best fighter of his generation to Floyd mayweather an both of them would have got destroyed in the haggler Hearns Duran Leonard era.

....early rumour round-up this morning as I'm taking my son and his wife the airport. Here's Thursday morning's gossip;

- According to the Telegraph, Everton's Ross Barkley is one of four players Antonio Conte has targeted for Chelsea ahead of the new season. The Daily Star say Chelsea are seriously interested in the Toffee's midfielder.

- The Daily Mail reports Watford have made a loan enquiry for Everton winger Aaron Lennon.

- The Daily Star and The Express say Everton will complete the £50m signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson by the weekend. The Mirror says a deal worth £45m will be finalised in the next 48 hours.

- Ninetyminutesonline suggest Everton are one of a number of elite clubs chasing 20 year old Borussia Dortmund winger, Emre Mor.

- The Liverpool Echo quotes Ronald Koeman as saying Everton will have a "really strong side" if the club manages to bring in their remaining targets. The Blues are more hopeful than ever of signing Gylfi Sigurdsson and still want a striker and a left sided defender. Olivier Giroud is still thought to be Koeman's favoured striker option, and the club are also linked with £12m Lazio defender, Wesley Hoedt.

- James McCarthy is now odds-on favourite with SkyBet to join Newcastle from Everton.
This is how I like my @Eggs in the morning.
