We're just following the very similar pattern of strikers linked with: Giroud, Bas Dost, Jorgensen, Benteke, Willian Jose etc.

I want to see Sandro as the main striker. Purely because I'm bored of having a big lump up top

It's about options. Not literally having one striker at the club every game who can be sussed out long before the games start yo matter. Rom was just really good at punishing defenders hence the price tag.

Having 3 different strikers makes us harder to prepare against, options to change things and have more than one plan, speed doesn't work so try route one if need be, or Rooney provides technical play who involves the midfield more etc

How many times did we actually sell one of our best players under Moyes? Rooney, Lescott, Arteta, Pienaar, borderline Gravesen but not really at all, and then Rodwell was big money but barely played for us. Pienaar was Jan, Rooney and Arteta were deadline day and Lescott late

That's 4 or 5 times in what 11 years

When you look at it does look a myth. That said though we didnt really have a lot in terms of cover. We do need more not disputing that but also we've got a lot of dross to get rid off unfortunatley.

Despite all the money we have spent this summer....

We have sold a striker for 90 million potentially and replaced him so far for a total of 5.6 million. And our next signing is another midfielder
