Putting words in my mouth there, I'm not the one bragging how rich we are that's the sizable portion of the fanbase and even Farhad himself.

You don't need PSG money to sign a top striker when you have a zero net spend and have just sold a player for £75 million ffs.

Look at not sure what we're even at odds about. You want a top striker, I want a top striker, we don't have a top striker, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes to get a top striker.

Pontificate away.

Granted we are after a centre forward type player to hold play and all that stuff

What we need in that first 11 is a player who can look like they can score every week. Just a dangerous player who defences will be scared of because the slightest slip or mistake and bang, a goal. We had that in rom so that is what we need to replace more than anything.

Giroud being 30 concerns me on age sure but he scared me watching when he came on against us. Really looked like he could beat our defence when the ball went near him. Add pace out wide and just go all out to sign that type of striker if it isn't Giroud, as I said before we have replaced a 90 million pound striker for a grand total of 5.6 million so far. As a fan I would ask questions if we didn't spend too much more replacing him in all honesty if we spent it in places we don't need a player.

"Yes. We need two more front players because if you count the players, and count the numbers, we lost somebody and we brought somebody in,”

Wonder if this means two strikers or includes Sigurdsson?

Looks like tonight's embargo. Echo version below, however, Joyce may have names in his:

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that he still want to sign a new striker despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealing Everton's Europa League progress.

The 20-year-old came off the bench in Slovakia tonight to score the only goal of the game against Ruzomberok and secure the Blues' place in the play-off round.

Everton won the third qualifying round tie 2-0 on aggregate and know they are two legs away from rubber stamping a place in the group stages.

Koeman was pleased with Calvert-Lewin's impact when he came on for Sandro Ramirez but says he remains intent on signing two more forward players – one being Gylfi Sigurdsson while Olivier Giroud is another target.

Asked if he still planned to sign a striker, Koeman said: “Yes.

“We need two more front players because if you count the players and count the numbers, we lost somebody and we brought somebody in. We like more competition and that explanation is not so difficult.”

Calvert-Lewin played in a wide right role in last week's first leg at Goodison but struggled to make an impact.

Koeman threw him on upfront this evening and the manager says it's a role which he is more comfortable playing.

“Of course, out of this system he feels himself a little bit more comfortable than he did last week,” he said.

“He created problems for the left full-back but in one of the positions of the two strikers he gets more space.

“He is strong, he is fast and he scored a great goal.”

Koeman added: “Of course I will count on him but I did count on him last season.

“It’s all about performances, it’s all about training.

“We need competition and it is good to have someone as a striker in our squad to give competition to the rest of the players.”

Meanwhile, Koeman declared himself “really happy” with the overall result as the Blues saw off Ruzomberok.

But he admits that the two performances have highlighted the areas he feels they must improve on ahead of their Premier League opener against Stoke City on August 12.

“Two victories, two clean sheets and we did better defensively tonight than we did last week,” Koeman said.

“But we know we can, and we need, to improve in our ball possession.

“We had a lot of space in the first-half for Michael Keane and you need to dribble in and create more than we did.

“And for most of the players it was a really physical game, 90 minutes, and that's what you need in a pre-season. We go through to the next round and I'm really happy.”

Everton face Sevilla on Sunday in a pre-season friendly at Goodison before they kick-off the new league season six days later.

Of course he does. I still find it unreal that everyone thinks he's some holding middy or that he plays the same position as Klassen.

Need a target guy now - although I wonder, if Ross, McCarthy, Niasse, and Robles would get gone, we'd be in a pretty favorable cash position beyond where we are now. Hell, we could buy Benteke AND VVD!!!!!!

I think he means Siggy plus one

We took Crystal Palace's best player last summer.
We're taking Swansea's best player this summer.
We took Burnley's best player this summer.
We took Sunderland's best player this summer.

Lets go raid Crystal Palace for their best player again. it really doesn't look like Giroud is coming.
Or we can raid Bournemouth for their best player. King/Benteke. Get them in, we can fix our pace and add that damn centre forward we need.
Nobody would ever complain if we started with Ramirez, Benteke and King as a front three with Sigurdsson in behind.

We really need 4 new players. A centre half who can play as a left back (if we play three at the back Holgate should with Keane and one of Jags/Williams/new signing), A striker, A Hybrid and Sigurdsson.

Hopefully Sigurdsson can provide the creativity we've lacked. Sending Dowell on loan was good, but feel as if we've missed a trick on him. Could really have filled a void when teams are parking the bus playing as a #10. He would have blitzed it tonight. Losing Barkley will hurt more than losing Rom IMO.

If only we had.

But I am sure they had no interest in selling Zaha :(
