Summer Transfer Window 2017

Of course he does. I still find it unreal that everyone thinks he's some holding middy or that he plays the same position as Klassen.

Need a target guy now - although I wonder, if Ross, McCarthy, Niasse, and Robles would get gone, we'd be in a pretty favorable cash position beyond where we are now. Hell, we could buy Benteke AND VVD!!!!!!

---------

Seriously Benteke is not that good ..
if we need a cf striker we need 3 things
Speed
Power
Height

Giroud lacks because of pace

What we really need is

Kasper Dolberg

Not sure of any ideas, but I wouldn't mind bringing in a winger on loan. Hopefully, Walsh gets creative and we aren't left light in the attack.

That's fair. Just thinking of something in the Bolasie/Lookman mold for an injection of pace. Don't think we get that from a target man or Gylfi.
Get where you're coming from. Think a big presence up front is more pressing but with this lack of pace thing we have Ramirez/Lookman/Mirallas and if we are lucky Bolasie on return. I suppose the question is how many of them are likely to make a consistent run of nailing a first team place.

I think if Bolasie can come back healthy and determined, he will be a huge contributor. Liked what he showed last season.

My take on it? Siggy will be completed within the next 24 hours, an additional striker by the time we play Stoke and that leaves us another 2-3 weeks to sort out whatever other areas RK feels we are lacking in. Just feel that Ronkoe will now press home that need to get things resolved quick and the coming week will see most of that happening once he puts the Siggurdson deal to bed. I don't personally believe he intends sitting on his hands waiting for Giroud to come even if that is - as reported - his number one striking choice. The guy himself (Giroud) doesn't appear to be sending out any kind of signals to suggest Everton are in his sights. Have a strong feeling we may now be looking towards Italy for the striker option.

So your telling me the manager is simply incapable of looking at other strikers? So your telling me clubs like Palace wouldn't be tempted to sell a player for a big fee/Said player wouldn't be interested to move or in Bathsuyai's case get first team football for the WC year?

Okay lad let's just pretend Olivier Giroud is the only striker in world football who we can go for. I can already see the script, he'll stay at arsenal and we'll be fumbling around on deadline day and go for a Valencia/Sissoko like last season.

No one is telling you mate!!

Facts are Benteke, you wont buy him for 40 million as Palace paid around 35 for him

Stop flapping there is still time to get players in, we have achieved great business so far, and there is three more to come!

Keep the thread urine free please!

I like Dolberg but... he would be a horrible main striker.

Its pretty clear that Koeman is saying the exact same thing he was last week, we are going to bring in Siggy or a Siggy like player, and a striker. Judging by how well the board did his initial bidding early in the window, I see no reason we wont get what we want.

I think our ideal formation is with a target man up top, Sandro on one wing, Siggy tucked in on the other(so with only one traditional winger), with Rooney and Klaassen as attacking CMs, and one defensive mid of mostly Schneiderlin, maybe Gana. When we arent playing a top 6 team, that should be the way we line up.

Going to be painfully narrow by the looks of it. Once again every player looking to cut inside or just stay inside.

Sandro isn't a traditional winger either...
