We took Crystal Palace's best player last summer.
We're taking Swansea's best player this summer.
We took Burnley's best player this summer.
We took Sunderland's best player this summer.

Lets go raid Crystal Palace for their best player again. it really doesn't look like Giroud is coming.
Or we can raid Bournemouth for their best player. King/Benteke. Get them in, we can fix our pace and add that damn centre forward we need.
Nobody would ever complain if we started with Ramirez, Benteke and King as a front three with Sigurdsson in behind.

We really need 4 new players. A centre half who can play as a left back (if we play three at the back Holgate should with Keane and one of Jags/Williams/new signing), A striker, A Hybrid and Sigurdsson.

Hopefully Sigurdsson can provide the creativity we've lacked. Sending Dowell on loan was good, but feel as if we've missed a trick on him. Could really have filled a void when teams are parking the bus playing as a #10. He would have blitzed it tonight. Losing Barkley will hurt more than losing Rom IMO.

Thought we'd signed Scott Dann again
You mean Yannick... gotcha
I do admire the optimism though and it's Friday, let's do this Everton

...Friday morning's rumour round-up;

- According to French outlet, Le10 Sport, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has opted to stay at the club for the forthcoming league campaign. The Liverpool Echo report Ronald Koeman still wants a new striker despite the emergence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

- 4th Official again link Everton with Lazio's 23 year old Dutch defender, Wesley Hoedt and Borussia Dortmund winger Emre Mor.

- The Liverpool Echo says Ronald Koeman is 'hoping for good news' from the Everton Board regarding the pursuit of Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

- The Daily Mail suggests Brighton are prepared to pay no more than £6m for Everton outcast Oumar Niasse.

- The Mail also says Newcastle United are keen on Everton midfielder Ross Barkley but will have trouble financing the deal.

I think, purely as its World Cup year, Giroud is still a possibility. I haven't seen any recent comments from the play or Wenger about a move

I like Dolberg but... he would be a horrible main striker.

Its pretty clear that Koeman is saying the exact same thing he was last week, we are going to bring in Siggy or a Siggy like player, and a striker. Judging by how well the board did his initial bidding early in the window, I see no reason we wont get what we want.

I think our ideal formation is with a target man up top, Sandro on one wing, Siggy tucked in on the other(so with only one traditional winger), with Rooney and Klaassen as attacking CMs, and one defensive mid of mostly Schneiderlin, maybe Gana. When we arent playing a top 6 team, that should be the way we line up.

Why would a potential world class forward whose been playing up front all last season on his own be a 'horrible main striker'?

...I just can't see why we'd pay £50m for Sigurdsson and play him out wide. Surely he'll be a conventional no10. As for Dolberg he looks the all around central striker to me. Decent back to goal and scores goals but last I saw was that he's staying at Ajax for another season.
