people saying splash the cash on winger because we lack pace, we spent £25m on bolasie! It was unfortunate that that happened, but we can't just go out and spend £20m everytime a player gets an injury. The demari gray shouts are woeful too, he's worse than lookman (a player who could easily solve that pace problem if you bedwetters could wait 5 bloody minutes!), think they both managed the same amount of goals last season despite lookman playing about 25 minutes in total.

It's the striker situation. We sold our only star player and got 90m but haven't replaced him. The angst is understandable.

It's not just that. We lost Deulofeu, we may also be losing Lennon. I'm not saying it was wrong to let them go, but it leaves us light on wingers especially with Bolasie's injury. For months we've lacked options going forward, we haven't created enough chances. This has been our biggest problem in pre-season.

yeah, and mcgeady going and dowell out on loan adds to that too. I just think that if bolasie wasn't injured we wouldn't be so up in arms about it, which is a bit silly because if he got the injury the day after the window closes people shouldn't be saying "argh, we should have bough another winger just in case".

The way i see it, we spent £36m on bolasie and lookman, we still already have mirallas and well, our preferred formations are not going to include playing two wingers, one at most. Wouldn't have sent dowell out on loan myself after his pre-season but his opportunities would have been limited.

I understand some of the concerns about lack of pace, but we're obviously targetting a gameplan where pace is something of a plan b near the end of games. We can't splash out £20m on a winger and then head into next summer with the new winger, bolasie, lookman, mirallas, dowell, onyekuru, sandro (to an extent) and lennon (if he only goes out on loan) when we play with 3 narrow attacking mids like siggurdsson, klaassen and rooney behind the striker.

I think we are sending the youth out on loan purely to gain the experience in tough Mens leagues.I am sure those bases are covered with what we are going to bring in.I wouldn't be surprised if we get more in than Koeman is letting on about.

if someone comes in with a good offer for mccarthy and barkley goes it wouldn't be beyond the realms we get another centre mid as well, but i'd be more than happy with a centre back who can fill in at left, siggy and a top target man.

We've bought and sold so much this summer already, more than i thought we should have, but we did require a good rebuilding job. Just didn't expect us to do it all in one whack. Obviously the majority on here will be asking questions as to why not everything has clicked together as early as next week and idiots from around the country will say "well, everton have wasted a load of money". But we've built a well balanced, all round squad and will have addressed every single weakness imo.

Even ex Everton players are saying not to expect much until Christmas with the team gelling and bedding in.
