Summer Transfer Window 2017

Whoever we sign now won't be starting against Stoke unless they have had a full pre season in them. Any signings we make will most probably not play until September now. No point in making any mad decisions like last summer and end up with a sissoko like player. We still have a few weeks left. In contract dave we trust.

Can't stand Benitez but talking sense today that even average players cost far too much these days

This is why Walsh needs to start targeting some gems from central and Eastern Europe and cheaper leagues

.....Wednesday's news round-up from the rumour columns;

- According to The Telegraph, Swansea are ready to walk away from negotiations with Everton for midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Telegraph understand a fee of £45m was verbally agreed with the Toffees, only for Everton to reignite talks with a view to bring the price down further. The Liverpool Echo says Everton will look to continue their pursuit amidst fears the deal has collapsed.
Sounds about right for Everton. How many times are we going to agree a fee only to try to renegotiate and annoy selling clubs, before we learn it doesnt work.

Can't help feeling we could end up with Troy Deeney. Seemed to have been linked with him for ages, and now Watford are signing strikers all of a sudden - potentially covering off losing Deeney?

Martial would be fantastic, will never happen though. An actual marquee signing who would fit in perfectly.

With Giroud looking unlikely (was it ever likely) I'd look at Dolberg or Pelle as other options.

I'd also look at Mahrez over Sig and get the LB from Celtic in.

But we're skint :(

If they are sure they can keep him fit for a decent part of the season, he still a good signing. The thing is that's quite a feat to do.

He is either unlucky with injuries, or he's just knackered mate, and ready for the scrap heap.
