Summer Transfer Window 2017

I'd love him but he wouldn't come to us as would no doubt have Champions League options instead.

I don't see why it is such a long shot. Perhaps the lad wants to start playing football again. United would probably rather do business with us then Spurs and he would not even have to move house to boot :)

Need another centre Half. Would make a bigger difference than another midfielder imo. Left side of defence can be improved more drastically than any other position.

Baines wasn't great today and I think we need some real competition for him.

If only we'd go out and get VVD to partner Keane - we'd be a different side.

Fixed that for you.

Throw any money we have at a top class LCB.

Be a different side with Gibson too. Either or would be amazing but if we were after Gibson I'd have thought we would have gone in by now.

West Brom got £20m rejected IIRC.

Baines seems to be on a decline, and it's not even a steady decline.

Mate he declined like 2 seasons ago for me. Can't remember him passing forwards once in his last million games.

Think it's a contest on who dislikes his play the most out of me and @sageyefc

Gibson (who I don't remember seeing play apart from England games) was said to be rated at 28mil by Boro.

For me left centre back and left back are the most significant signings this summer.

If Jagielka breaks down we are screwed with Williams and likewise Baines for Cuco.

As Deco says, we would be a different team with VVD but I think that if we have 50++ million to spend and he doesn't come then we should at least be in for another Keane or superior level player...from somewhere...I mean Walsh is meant to be looking for these players.

Failing that, I'm all for us going in for Gibson and why not Chilwell also? Would be easier perhaps to integrate English players and then next summer go for a real star centre back so we have the option of 3 at the back.

Surely we cant just sign an 'ok' or good defender...we need to sign a class act so we have Pickford, Keane and the new player marshalling the defence.

Its looking a bit 'Newcastle' with all the focus on forward positions and a makeshift defence.

given that it is now as plain as a pikestaff that the Mosh aint putting any of his own dosh into the club, I hope the club think long and hard before splashing out on Siggi and a bog standard cf for 80-90m. Rooney was a terrific no 10 today, and I reckon he's good for another 18 months. Also, DCL, lets give him a go this season. He was terrific today, would Benteke at 45m really be such an upgrade, I reckon he'd get you an extra 5-7 league goals a season, but with none of the link up play.So save the money for an outstanding centre half and left back next season
Forget next season. The window isn't still open.

We desperate need a starting RB, LB and CB.

If we got that I think we could grind out enough goals to have a good season especially if we keep Ross. Maybe

We played a CF as our right back because the manager doesn't trust any of them. Why is this blatantly obvious. Coleman may will probably not play until around February. Even though if and it's a big he comes back just as good it's too long to wait.

Tierney.

Never been impressed with Chilwell, just throwing that out there.

i think one of our biggest weaknesses that was shown today was not having players willing to take people on, go on dribbling runs past defenders etc. everything seemed very predictable and static. not sure about the accuracy of this, but WhoScored says we didn't have a single completed dribble against stoke and i think that unpredictability and "magic" going forward is something we could do with more of. maybe sandro can provide that when he starts to gel more with the team or even lookman but its something i think could be worth addressing in the transfer market along with a striker/centre half.

get well soon yannick x
