Just by what limited stuff I have seen by him. He doesn't seem to be saving much.

He is not a bad keeper by any means. Neither is Robles though. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.

This thread and the Robles one are a circle of keepers that are all much of a muchness, Robles, Pickford, Schmicheal, Heaton, Forster, Hart, maye one or two others, nothing between any of them, one or two have more potential with being younger, but for me one of them stands out from all of them, the one that will cost us nothing.

We need someone better then all those names, that is the job Walsh has, not to go like for like and waste money doing it.

I don't really have an issue with this sort of signing for next season. Coleman is gonna miss a large part of the season and it'll be interesting to see if he comes back the player he was or better so to have a player like Martina to help out, who Koeman knows, and will be free, could be a good move and allow us to put our funds to other positions for next season.

If Coleman doesn't come back the player he was in the second part of the season, then look for a long term replacement next summer, along with a LB to replace Baines cos as good as he's been, I think he's only got a season left at being our No.1 LB, imo!....

Personally think we could go for Zabaleta since he's gonna be let go by City.

Loads of experience, would be great to rotate with Holgate.

Agree mate. Problem with getting an upgrade is most of them are at top clubs already and I just can't see how we could attract them to us given where we are as a club at the moment. The only two possibilities that come to mind are Jack Butland and Berndt Leno. However Butland has been out for a year and there's no guarantee he'll come back the same player. Leno probably hasn't been as good this season as previous ones either. Both are young and have, in the past, shown themselves to be top class though.

he's being let go by City though mate as he is washed up, same way Ivanovic was at Chelsea his last season there
All we're after is a bit of experience mate until Seamus recovers. It will give him another year at a premier club rather than go back to someone like Boca Juniors and we get a bit more experience in what could be a very young defence. No brainer for me.

Yeah but surely having better stats in a poorer side, regardless of if things generally go through that one player more than others, is impressive?!

And it can be comparable. Ok the goals through out our team are shared out more, but who else in our team seems to be creating and making the chances? It's Barkley really isn't it...

Stats in football genuinely mean nothing to me. People are blinded by them all too easily and they don't tell a true story.

Had us in knots at the weekend, and reasonably strong and resillient. He does have a cracking delivery.
I know it's not fashionable, but I think Brady is pretty good- better than anything we have on the left.

Hahaha that's a fantastic wind up.

Imagine the fume if we actually signed Robbie Brady.

You know that chap who has started 2 out of the last 10 premier league games for Burnley.
