Summer Transfer Window 2017

We've done brilliant business this summer, the only thing which disappoints me is we've left the hardest signing till last. Nobody is going to sell us their star striker now for anything short of silly money, and I don't think we'll be prepared to pay it.

Really struggle to see who we'll get in, and genuinely think it'll be Slimani or Welbeck now. Neither of which is a disaster by the way, the former particularly would do well here I think. But it's a tad underwhelming.
That's the general concensus amongst the majority of commentators/ experts.

One guy who I'm starting to warm to on SSN, who I used to think was an utter cockwomble, is Danny Higginbottom. He actually often makes a lot of sense and at least he isn't another biased RS. He said yesterday that if the window closed now then we've done the best business out of all the premier clubs, and I think from a squad point of view I'd agree.

I don't think we'll see a big name signing but with the emphasis on spreading the goals around with the players already brought in, we should be able to sign someone who can get 12-15 goals in all competitions, that is not a huge ask.

It may be worth trying to utilise the loan market again for a striker, with a buyout option.

I am ok with Slimani coming in and that seems the most realistic signing to me now, after being decidedly underwhelmed with him initially. There may be potential for a loan there too. It would be grim to contemplate getting nobody in but I'm sure Koeman doesn't need telling and to be fair to the club, they have delivered during the summer.

Lots of possibilities can open up in the last 48 hours of the window so I am pretty confident they'll get someone in. I would like two more in but a No. 9 is the most critical. Just the one last test for them now as far as transfers go.

Most of our team is stronger. But the most important part is weaker. I feel like unless we get the right CF in it'll all be for nothing.

the brother in law is German. Big Dortmund fan.

asked him over beers in the summer - who is the best striker in Germany?

he said
1. Aubemayang
2. Lewandowski
3. Wagner

most suited to Premier league?

Wagner
Wagner could be a realistic shout if the RS knock Hoffenheim out of the CL.

He signed. 1 year contract extension in July taking him until 2020. I wonder how much it would take if it's even possible

I wouldn't go that far mate. But I agree we do need a quality central striker in the squad, and one that you would expect to score a minimum 15 a season, if we are going to trouble the teams above us.

As of now, the squad is much stronger with more options, but I would say the starting XI is pretty much the same overall. Better defensively but not as good going forward. We also really need Seamus and Bolasie back asap.

The more i hear who we're linked with the more appealing Josh King sounds ffs
At the end of last season when I was spending all the Lukaku money in my head, I was thinking King would be a good back up striker. Now, as you say, I'm wondering if he'd do a job as first choice. Not the type of player we seem to be after, but he makes good runs and knows where the goal is.

If he continued playing like he did last season he really would be a great signing tbh, it's just worrying i suppose that he's 26 and done nothing of note before then, added to the fact i remember the likes of Michael Rickets looking like an absolutely world class striker for 6 months that one time before fading back into obscurity

Edit- he's 25 actually
